Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to monitor wireless traffic. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes at least one memory, instructions in the apparatus, and processor circuitry to execute the instructions to: establish, via a first wireless interface, a wireless connection with first network credentials to match second network credentials of a primary access point; monitor traffic via a second wireless interface, the second wireless interface different than the first wireless interface; identify, via the traffic monitored via the second wireless interface, a connection of a client to the primary access point; capture, via an alternate access point, a management frame transmitted from the primary access point to the client; insert a change channel announcement into the captured management frame; and re-transmit, via the first wireless interface, the captured management frame including the change channel announcement.

Methods and apparatus to monitor WI-FI media streaming using an alternate access point

Example methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture (i.e., physical storage media) to perform media source detection based on frequency band selection and processing are disclosed. Example meters disclosed herein are to compare a first audio signal from a monitored media device with a second audio signal from a first one of a plurality of media sources in communication with the monitored media device to determine a sequence of match results, the first audio signal associated with media presented by the media device. Disclosed example meters are also to compute a standard deviation of time delays associated with respective ones of the match results. Disclosed example meters are further to determine whether the first one of the media sources is a source of the media presented by the monitored media device based on the standard deviation.

Frequency band selection and processing techniques for media source detection

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for multimodal audience detection and identification. An example system disclosed herein includes at least one memory, instructions in the apparatus, and processor circuitry to execute the instructions to: select a portion of a set of signal strength values associated with advertising packets from a device associated with a user, the advertising packets captured by a multi-axis receiver on a plurality of different signal polarizations; calculate a first representative signal strength value based on the selected portion of signal strength values; and determine a presence of the user based on whether the first representative signal strength value satisfies a threshold.

Methods and apparatus for multimodal audience detection and identification

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for multimodal audience detection and identification. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes a signal strength value selector to select a portion of a set of signal strength values associated with advertising packets from a device associated with a user, the advertising packets captured by a multi-axis receiver on a plurality of different signal polarizations, a signal strength calculator to calculate a first representative signal strength value based on the selected portion of signal strength values, and a presence determiner to determine a presence of the user based on whether the first representative signal strength value satisfies a threshold.

Example levitating meter apparatus are disclosed. An example metering system includes a meter having a display to present indicia associated with a panelist. The meter has a microphone to receive audio output from a media device and circuitry to perform media monitoring. A base includes a cavity to receive at least a portion of the meter. The meter to magnetically levitate relative to the base to decouple the meter from the base. The base and the meter structured to fix a rotational position of the meter relative to the base when the at least the portion of the meter is received by the cavity of the base and the meter levitates relative to the base.

Levitating metering apparatus

Example apparatus disclosed herein determine that an output media signal from a monitored media device corresponds to at least a first media signal from a first source device in communication with the monitored media device, and a second media signal from a second source device in communication with the monitored media device. Disclosed example apparatus also access motion data reported by one or more of a first accelerometer associated with a first remote control device, a second accelerometer associated with a second remote control device, a third accelerometer associated with a third remote control device, the first remote control device associated with the first source device, the second remote control device associated with the second source device, the third remote control device associated with the monitored media device. Resolving media source detection and simulcast monitoring ambiguities with motion sensor data

Example levitating meter apparatus are disclosed. An example metering system includes a meter having a display to present indicia associated with a panelist, the meter having a microphone to receive audio output from the media device and circuitry to perform media monitoring. The example metering system includes a base having a cavity to receive at least a portion of the meter, the meter to magnetically levitate relative to the base to decouple the meter from the base.

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to monitor WI-FI media streaming using alternate access points. An example apparatus disclosed herein monitor wireless traffic includes an example traffic monitor to identify a connection of a WI-FI client to a primary access point and capture a management frame transmitted from the primary access point to the WI-FI client. The example apparatus further includes an example frame generator to insert a change channel announcement into the captured management frame and a router to cause a wireless interface to transmit the beacon frame to the WI-FI client.

Example methods disclosed herein to resolve media source detection ambiguities include detecting an ambiguity condition associated with media source detection when monitoring media presented by a media output device in communication with at least two media source devices, and in response to detecting the ambiguity condition, determining a source of the media output from the media output device using motion data reported by accelerometers affixed to remote control devices associated with the at least two media source devices. Example methods disclosed herein to resolve simulcast crediting ambiguities include detecting an ambiguity condition associated with simulcast broadcasting when monitoring media presented by a media output device, and in response to detecting the ambiguity condition, adjusting a time associated with a channel change using motion data reported by an accelerometer affixed to a remote control device associated with the media output device.

Example methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture (i.e., physical storage media) to perform media source detection based on frequency band selection and processing are disclosed. Example metering methods disclosed herein include comparing frequency band values of a first audio signal with corresponding frequency band values of a second audio signal for a first subset of a set of frequency bands to determine a first comparison result. Disclosed example metering methods also include comparing the frequency band values of the first audio signal with corresponding frequency band values of a third audio signal for a different second subset of the set of frequency bands to determine a second comparison result. Disclosed example metering methods further include determining a source of the first audio signal based on the first comparison result and the second comparison result.
