A computer-implemented method for debugging an executable control flow graph that specifies control flow among a plurality of functional modules, with the control flow being represented as transitions among the plurality of functional modules, the computer-implemented method including: specifying a position in the executable control flow graph at which execution of the executable control flow graph is to be interrupted; wherein the specified position represents a transition to a given functional module, a transition to a state in which contents of the given functional module are executed or a transition from the given functional module; starting execution of the executable control flow graph in an execution environment; and at a point of execution representing the specified position, interrupting execution of the executable control flow graph; and providing data representing one or more attributes of the execution environment in which the given functional module is being executed.

Debugging an executable control flow graph that specifies control flow

A method of managing components in a processing environment is provided. The method includes monitoring (i) a status of each of one or more computing devices, (ii) a status of each of one or more applications, each application hosted by at least one of the computing devices, and (iii) a status of each of one or more jobs, each job associated with at least one of the applications; determining that one of the status of one of the computing devices, the status of one of the applications, and the status of one of the jobs is indicative of a performance issue associated with the corresponding computing device, application, or job, the determination being made based on a comparison of a performance of the computing device, application, or job and at least one predetermined criterion; and enabling an action to be performed associated with the performance issue.

Integrated monitoring and control of processing environment

Data is prepared for processing in a data processing system using format information. Data is received that includes records that have values for fields over an input device or port. A target record format for processing the data is determined. Multiple records are analyzed according to validation tests to determine whether the data matches candidate record formats. Each candidate record format specifies a format for each field, and each validation test corresponds to at least one candidate record format. In response to receiving results of the validation tests, the target record format is associated with the data based on at least one of: a candidate record format for which at least a partial match was determined according to at least one validation test, a parsed record format selected according to a data type associated with the data, and a constructed record format generated from an analysis of data characteristics.

Managing record format information

In some aspects, a method includes connecting over a network to a data storage system, the data storage system storing data objects. A dataflow graph that includes nodes representing data processing components connected by links that represent flows of data access an interface of the data storage system. The interface provides functions for accessing the data objects. At least one of the data processing components performs operations on a received input flow of data that enable the functions provided by the interface to modify one or more stored data objects, and performs operations in response to functions provided by the interface to generate an output flow of data.

Communicating with data storage systems

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for specifying a user interface. One of the methods includes receiving an identification of at least one configurable application, each configurable application being configurable by one or more parameters. The method includes identifying a set of parameters associated with the at least one configurable application. The method includes displaying, in a second user interface, a graphical display element, the graphical display element having properties and associated with a location relative to the first user interface. The method includes displaying, in the second user interface, one or more graphical representations of the set of parameters. The method includes receiving a mapping between a property of the graphical display element and a parameter of the set of parameters. The method also includes storing a representation of the mapping and the location.

Building applications for configuring processes

An interface is provided on a computing device for interacting with data stored in a data repository. Input is received including information identifying two or more attributes, and information indicating an order for the identified attributes. A hierarchical data structure is stored, with an order of hierarchy levels corresponding to the indicated order. Multiple attribute values for the attributes are determined. The method includes assigning to each node of a first level at least one of the attribute values of a first attribute, and assigning to each node of a second level at least one of the attribute values of a second attribute, each of the nodes of the second level also being assigned respective ones of the attribute values assigned to one or more nodes of preceding levels. The interface is displayed including displaying interface elements associated with each of the nodes.
