A man-portable wearable antenna system to be worn by a wearer. The wearable antenna system comprises a helmet antenna, a vest antenna worn around the torso, a body antenna worn along the entire body, and a means for routing signals between one of the antennas and a communication device.

Integrated man-portable wearable antenna system

An antenna comprises an antenna feed line having first and second conductors. It also comprises an antenna driver section having a pair of opposing cones. Each of the cones has an apex region and the cones are arranged so that the apex regions are spaced apart and are adjacent. One of the cones is connected to the first conductor and a second of the cones is connected to the second conductor. The antenna also comprises an antenna beam shaper section. This section has a beam shaper element with a beam shaping surface chosen to provide selected antenna operating characteristics and also has a conforming surface that is in substantial conformity with a crotch defined between the two cones.

Methods of manufacturing an antenna are presented. The antenna is capable of being mounted on a printed circuit board. In accordance with the method, the design dimension of a unitary piece of material are selected according to an operating wavelength. The unitary piece of material is stamped out from a larger section of material according to the design dimensions to form an antenna. The unitary piece of material includes a circular area and a stem area. The circular area has a center and an outer region. The stem area has a first end and a second end. The first end is joined with the outer region. The unitary piece is bendable at the first end and the outer region.

Method of manufacturing a side stem monopole antenna

Methods of manufacturing an antenna are presented. The antenna is capable of being mounted on a printed circuit board. In accordance with the method, the design dimension of a unitary piece of material are selected according to an operating wavelength. The unitary piece of material is stamped out from a larger section of material according to the design dimensions to form an antenna. The unitary piece of material includes a circular area and a stem area. The circular area has a center and an outer region. The stem area has a first end and a second end. The first end is joined with the center. The unitary piece is bendable at the first end and the center.

Method of manufacturing a central stem monopole antenna

The present invention provides a planar antenna having a scalable multi-dipole structure for receiving, and transmitting high-frequency signals, including a plurality of opposing layers of conducting strips disposed upon either side of an insulating (dielectric) substrate. The dipoles are bifurcated between sides of a substrate on which the dipoles are disposed. A feed line is balanced to a co-axial cable and feeds one half of the bifurcated dipoles, and an independent feed line is connected to the other half of the bifurcated dipoles. Sets of the dipoles are arranged symmetrically around a center axis of the feed lines. The sets of dipoles are in series with other sets of dipoles. The antenna is ideally suited for operation in the 5.15-5.35 GHz RF band.

Planar high-frequency antenna

Systems and methods for mounting an antenna on a printed circuit board are presented. In accordance with the method, an opening is formed through a printed circuit board (PCB). The PCB has a bottom side and a transmission feed on a top side. The PCB is configured to receive an antenna through the opening. An antenna is inserted into the opening on the top side of the PCB. The antenna makes electrical contact with the transmission feed. The antenna is secured to the PCB at the bottom side of the PCB.

Method and system for mounting a monopole antenna

An antenna is formed on a vest by providing a pair of conducting regions on the outer surface. A non-conducting gap separates the conducting regions. A front conducting strip provides an electrical connection between the first and second electrically conducting portions. A feed conductor is connected to a conducting patch that is connected to one of the conducting regions.
