A power converter is provided. The power converter includes an input side having a first input winding and a second input winding coupled in electrical series to the first input winding. The power converter also includes an output side having a first output winding and a second output winding coupled in electrical parallel to the first output winding.

Single-stage DC-DC power converter

A DC-to-DC power converter includes a transformer having a primary side and a secondary side, and a primary circuit electrically coupled to the primary side of the transformer. The primary circuit includes a primary microcontroller configured to generate a first energizing signal that energizes a portion of the primary circuit. The DC-to-DC power converter also includes a secondary circuit electrically coupled to the secondary side of the transformer. The secondary circuit includes a secondary microcontroller communicatively coupled to the primary microcontroller, wherein the secondary microcontroller is configured to provide an instruction to the primary microcontroller that causes the primary microcontroller to relinquish control of the primary circuit to the secondary microcontroller, and wherein the secondary microcontroller is further configured to provide a second energizing signal to the portion of the primary circuit.

System and method for starting up a high density isolated DC-to-DC power converter

An integrated magnetic assembly includes a magnetic core, an input winding inductively coupled to the magnetic core, a first output winding inductively coupled to the magnetic core, and a second output winding inductively coupled to the magnetic core. The magnetic core includes first and second non-winding legs, and first and second winding legs. The first and second non-winding legs are spaced apart from one another, and the magnetic core defines an opening between the first and second non-winding legs. The input winding extends through the opening between the first and second non-winding legs, and is wound around each of the first and second winding legs. The first output winding is wound around the first winding leg. The second output winding is wound around the second winding leg.

Integrated magnetic assemblies and methods of assembling same

A controller for, and related method of, controlling first and second alternately conducting switches of a power converter. In one embodiment, the controller includes a sensing circuit configured to sense a parameter representative of an input voltage of the power converter. The controller also includes a modification circuit configured to alter a drive signal to one of the first and second switches thereby modifying a delay between conduction intervals of the first and second switches as a function of the input voltage.
