Methods, apparatus and computer programs for controlling power of wireless transmissions

There is proposed a mechanism for controlling communications conducted in multiple frequency bands, in particular for controlling interference caused by intermodulation distortion. When the UE obtains information that an interference caused by an intermodulation distortion produced by a set of first communications performed on at least a first and a second frequency and a second communication performed on a third frequency is present, an indication to the eNB for indicating that an interference situation caused by intermodulation distortion exists. The eNB receiving this indication is enabled to acquire parameters related to the interference situation caused by the intermodulation distortion, and to control, on the basis of the acquired parameters, a communication with the UE by changing communication properties for reducing the interference caused by intermodulation distortion.

Mechanism for controlling multi-band communication

A system and method of frequency conversion or demodulation can be used in wireless environments. A demodulator or frequency converter can include a forward mixer path including an amplifier, a first mixer, a first input, a second input, and a first output. The forward mixer path can be configured to receive a first radio frequency signal at the first input, receive an oscillator signal at the second input and provide a baseband signal. The first mixer can configured to provide a gain.

Techniques are described for calibration of a frequency converter for reducing a leakage-based direct current component at an output of the frequency converter. In an apparatus comprising a frequency converter arranged to perform frequency conversion on an input signal, a variable load arranged to act on at least one of an input and an output of the frequency converter, and a detector arranged to detect a direct current component of an output signal of the frequency converter, a plurality of states of the variable load are sequentially set, a variation between the direct current components for each one of the plurality of states of the variable load is observed, and at least one parameter influencing the direct current component of the output signal of the frequency converter is adjusted such that the observed variation is reduced.

Leakage calibration for a frequency converter

A receiver circuit comprising a connection portion for guiding each one of a first predefined number of carrier signals of multiple carriers to one of a number of receive branches, each receive branch comprising at least one amplifier load structure, the number of receive branches being equal to the first predefined number. The receiver circuit also comprises a mixing portion for generating a second predefined number of mixed carrier signals on each receive branch by mixing a carrier signal on each one of the receive branches with a number of local oscillator frequencies equal to the second predefined number, and a selection portion for selecting one of the second predefined number of mixed carrier signals on each receive branch to be output via a number of output paths equal to the first predetermined number to a digital data path.

Direct conversion receiver circuit for concurrent reception of multiple carriers

Embodiments provide methods, devices, circuitry and systems for supporting or implementing functionality to provide a filtering circuit, and for providing a transmitter, receiver or transceiver system incorporating the same. One embodiment provides a circuit for filtering signals. The circuit comprises a first connection configured to be connected to a signal line carrying varying signal voltage and a second connection. The circuit also comprises a first circuit portion comprising a parallel resonant circuit having a variable capacitance connected in parallel with a first inductor; and a second circuit portion comprising a second inductor. The first circuit portion and the second circuit portion are connected in series between the first connection and the second connection.

Filter circuitry

A low noise amplifier for radio frequency integrated circuits having an adaptive input and operating mode selection. The low noise amplifier comprises two inputs which can be operated in different configurations. The operating mode may be chosen in such way that the inputs are used respectively one at the time for single-ended configuration or both inputs are used for differential configuration. Additionally, in single-ended operation, inputs can be matched to different frequencies. The information regarding the operating mode is obtained from an external component. The operating mode to be used may be determined when the device using a particular radio frequency integrated circuit is designed or it can be determined dynamically by the device using the radio frequency integrated circuit.

Apparatus for a radio frequency integrated circuit

Technique for calibration of a frequency converter for reducing a leakage-based non-direct-current component at an output of the frequency converter. In an apparatus comprising a frequency converter arranged to perform frequency conversion on an input signal, a local oscillator signal generator arranged to generate an amplitude-modulated local oscillator signal of the frequency converter, and a detector arranged to detect a non-direct-current component of an output signal of the frequency converter, which results from the amplitude-modulated local oscillator signal, an amplitude modulation of an original local oscillator signal by the local oscillator signal generator is controlled, a magnitude of local oscillator leakage of the frequency converter is observed on the basis of the non-direct-current component detected by the detector, and at least one parameter influencing the non-direct-current component of the output signal of the frequency converter is adjusted such that the observed magnitude of local oscillator leakage is reduced.

Calibration

Measures for determination of a receiver path delay for timing value measurement. Such measures may comprise causing a temporary signal variation at a start point element of a receiver path for receiving a positioning-related signal for timing value measurement, detecting the temporary signal variation at an end point element of the receiver path, and determining a time difference between a timing of causing the temporary signal variation at the start point element and a timing of detecting the temporary signal variation at the end point element as a delay value of the receiver path.

Determination of receiver path delay

There are provided measures for enabling power control for inter-band multi-carrier capable devices, such as e.g. inter-band carrier aggregation capable devices. Such measures may exemplarily include calculating at least one output power restriction value for a cumulative output power for a combination of at least two uplink carriers of a terminal device, said two uplink carriers operating on different bands, signaling the calculated at least one output power restriction value to the terminal device, and performing power control for the at least two uplink carriers using the acquired at least one output power restriction value at the terminal device.
