A nanoporous film and fabrication method thereof. The method for fabricating nanoporous film comprising: providing a substrate with a surface; forming a coating of a composition on the surface, curing the coating to polymerize the oxide gel, thereby forming an organic/inorganic hybrid film; and dissolving the template from the organic/inorganic hybrid film by an organic solvent. Specifically, the composition comprises the following components: an oxide gel, a template and an initiator.

Three dimensional nano-porous film and fabrication method thereof

An antireflective coating composition, antireflection films and fabrication method thereof. The antireflection film is constructed by stacked crosslink colloid particles, having a plurality of nanopores distributed uniformly therein. Due to the nanopores, the antireflection film has a refractive index less than 1.45, reducing the reflectivity of less than 3.0%. Furthermore, since the antireflection film comprises crosslink oxide colloid, the film exhibits superior mechanical strength and is suitable for use in display devices.

Antireflective coating composition, antireflection film, and fabrication method thereof

A nanopatterned template for use in manufacturing nanoscale objects. The nanopatterned template contains a nanoporous thin film with a periodically ordered porous geomorphology which is made from a process comprising the steps of: (a) using a block copolymerization process to prepare a block copolymer comprising first and second polymer blocks, the first and second polymer blocks being incompatible with each other; (b) forming a thin film under conditions such that the first polymer blocks form into a periodically ordered topology; and (c) selectively degrading the first polymer blocks to cause the thin film to become a nanoporous material with a periodically ordered porous geomorphology. In a preferred embodiment, the block copolymer is poly(styrene)-poly(L-lactide) (PS-PLLA) chiral block copolymer, the first polymer is poly(L-lactide), and the second polymer is polystyrene. Experimental results show that the first polymer blocks can be formed into a hexagonal cylindrical geomorphology with its axis perpendicular to a surface of the thin film. After hydrolysis to selectively degrade the first polymer blocks, a thin film having a series of repeated nanoscale hexagonal-cylindrical channels is obtained.

Nanopatterned templates from oriented degradable diblock copolymer thin films

A cycloolefin in copolymeric (COC) optical communication device. The COC optical communication device includes a core section of functional metallocene cycloolefin copolymer (f-mCOC) having a refractive index nfor light transmission, and a cladding layer of metallocene cycloolefin copolymer (mCOC), having a refractive index nsmaller than n, surrounding the core section and forming a waveguide structure together with the core section. Due to the fact that the various components of the optical communication device are comprised of essentially the same materials, signal transmission loss between heterogeneous interfaces is prevented, and provides excellent optical properties and superior processability.

Cycloolefin copolymeric optical communication device

The present invention provides a molecular blended polymer that includes two or more types of polymers blended at the molecular level. At least one monomer is polymerized in the presence of two or more kinds of catalysts supported on a mesoporous molecular sieve having a pore size of 20 &#x212b; to 500 &#x212b;. The polymerization occurs in the pore of the mesoporous molecular sieve and is controlled at the molecular level. Thus, the polymer material is controlled extremely well and the function and physical properties of the polymer material are greatly enhanced.

Molecular blended polymer and process for preparing the same

The present invention provides an olefin/cycloolefin/alkylstyrene copolymer which is non-functionalized, functionalized, or grafted. By the functionalization of the benzylic protons of the alkylstyrene unit, the copolymer can be functionalized. The functionalized or grafted olefin/cycloolefin/alkylstyrene copolymer has good adhesion to a substrate and good compatibility with other polymers compared with the non-functionalized copolymer.
