A brake system for a vehicle is provided to independently adjust a braking pressure of each wheel. The system includes a hydraulic pressure brake driven by two actuators and a sub-cylinder and valve configurations that are disposed in the peripheral flow path thereof to eliminate the pressure unbalance generated in the hydraulic pressure brake.

A brake system for a vehicle may include a brake input device configured to apply a brake input of a driver; a brake actuator including a first pump device and a second pump device for supplying a brake hydraulic pressure; a brake adjusting device, which includes a first chamber and a second chamber, and is operated so that the first chamber and the second chamber are connected to or blocked from each other; and wheel cylinders configured to generate brake power for each wheel by the brake hydraulic pressure generated in the brake actuator, wherein the brake adjusting device blocks the first chamber and the second chamber so that a brake hydraulic pressure supplied from the first pump device and a brake hydraulic pressure supplied from the second pump device are blocked from each other.

An electromechanical brake is capable of quickly releasing braking force and improving braking performance of a vehicle even when a power source breaks down. The electromechanical brake includes a drive unit including: a nut member which is coupled to a piston and moves in an axial direction to allow the piston to move forward and backward; a spindle which is thread-coupled to the nut member and rotates to move the nut member in the axial direction; an electric motor which provides power for rotating the spindle; a friction member which rotates together with the spindle; and an elastic member which stores elastic energy by being deformed when the friction member rotates during the braking operation, and provides elastic restoring force as backward torque to the spindle through the friction member when the braking operation is released.

An electromechanical brake device and a method of controlling the same provide the electromechanical brake device capable of estimating motor characteristics, and the method capable of controlling the electromechanical brake device by estimating motor characteristics. The electromechanical brake device includes a reaction force generating mechanism which is installed between a piston and one side of a caliper housing, generates reaction force applied against straight moving force of the piston, which moves backward in an axial direction, in a direction in which a braking operation is released, and applies reaction force to the piston; a sensor which detects a motor operating state; and a controller which estimates a motor torque constant that represents a correlation between motor electric current and motor rotational torque, based on motor operating state information detected by the sensor when an operation of the motor is controlled.

A disk brake having a double self-cooling structure to suppress thermal deformation may include a brake disk having a double cooling structure, which is capable of securing cooling performance of the disk while reducing cost and weight of a vehicle compared with the prior art by configuring a self-cooling structure of the disk that can suppress thermal deformation due to excessive frictional heat during braking a vehicle.

An electromechanical brake includes a piston installed in a caliper housing so as to be movable forward and backward in an axial direction, and moves forward in the axial direction at the time of performing a braking operation so as to press a friction pad provided to clamp a disc; an actuator which provides rotational force for moving the piston; a spindle which is thread-coupled to the piston, and rotates by rotational force transmitted from the actuator to move the piston forward and backward in the axial direction; and a guide member which is provided to be integrally fixed to the caliper housing and coupled to the piston so as to restrict rotation of the piston and guide forward and backward axial movement of the piston, in which the guide member has a support portion which is coupled to the spindle and supports the spindle in the axial direction.

An electromechanical brake integrates a function of a parking brake by adding a simple structure to an existing electromechanical brake. In particular, the electromechanical brake includes a parking braking releasing structure configured to automatically release parking braking after a parking brake operates. In addition, the electromechanical brake is implemented to perform and release parking braking by using a drive unit which may operate in a single direction instead of using a drive unit which may operate in two directions.

A hybrid electro-mechanical brake (EMB) includes an actuator mounted at one side of a housing and generating a motor clamping force. A primary piston is connected to a spindle, which rotates by a motor clamping force of the actuator, to linearly move when the spindle rotates. A secondary piston linearly moves and is mounted between the housing and the primary piston to form a hydraulic chamber between the second piston and the primary piston. The hybrid EMB system generates a brake force by using the motor clamping force of the actuator and a hydraulic pressure in a hydraulic chamber. The actuator actuates to move the primary piston toward a front end of the secondary piston to increase a pressure in the hydraulic chamber, which is sealed, so that the brake force transferred to the secondary piston increases.
