The invention relates to a system for detecting an out-of-operation state of an elevator system. The system comprising: a signalization sensor unit, at least one actuation sensor device, and a monitoring unit. The signalization sensor unit is configured to obtain signalization traffic data of at least one control system bus of the elevator system. The at least one actuation sensor device is configured to obtain actuation output data of at least one actuator entity of the elevator system followed by the obtained signalization traffic data. The monitoring unit configured to: generate reference actuation output data followed by the obtained signalization traffic data by applying a machine learning module, and generate a signal indicating an out-of-operation state of the elevator system to an external computing entity, in response to a detection of a deviation between the obtained output data and the generated reference output data. The invention relates also to a method for detecting an out-of-operation state of an elevator system.

The observation unit is configured to obtain data representing movement of an elevator car during a predetermined time interval and transmit the obtained data to the processing unit. The processing unit is configured to receive and store the data representing the movement of the elevator car, generate at least one statistical parameter from the received data, compare the at least one generated statistical parameter to at least one previously stored statistical parameter of the corresponding time interval, and generate a signal indicating a misoperation in response to a detection that the at least one generated statistical parameter deviates from the corresponding previously stored statistical parameter over a predetermined limit. The invention concerns a method and a software program for determining the position of an elevator car moved in an elevator shaft, wherein an acceleration is measured and combined with measured open/closed states of the car door. The open-states of the door are used to identify floor-levels and a moving run sequence, wherein the car position estimate is then compared with allocated floor-levels from which the destination floor-level is calculated to extract the exact position of the car within the elevator shaft.
