In a vehicle outside rearview mirror device including a mirror housing capable of tilting with respect to a vehicle body, the vehicle outside rearview mirror device includes a base fixed to the vehicle body; a shaft fixed to the base; and the mirror housing mounted to the shaft so as to be capable of tilting, wherein a wall that reduces a flow rate of a wind passing through a gap between the base and the mirror housing is provided to the shaft.

It is important to mount a mirror assembly on a shaft in such a manner as to enable tilting without a backlash. According to the present invention, an inner circumferential face of a cylinder portionof a notch memberof a clutch mechanismcomes into contact with an outer circumferential face of a shaft, and an outer circumferential face of the cylinder portionof the notch memberof the clutch mechanismcomes into contact with an inner circumferential face of a housing portionof a mirror assembly, respectively. As a result, the present invention is capable of mounting the mirror assemblyon the shaftin such a manner to enable tilting without a backlash, by means of the cylinder portionof the notch memberof the clutch mechanism
