A tanker () is converted to a floating production ship by a vertical opening () being cut out in the hull () and a cassette-like plate structure () inserted in the opening. The cassette () is composed of plate elements () which are designed to fit and connect with the cut elements in the hull's opening. The cassette () will thereby form part of the ship's hull strength. The cassette has a vertical shaft () for mounting a turret () in/near the ship's bottom area. The turret () is wet-mounted in the shaft.

Method for conversion of a tanker

A geostationary anchoring and riser arrangement in a vessel comprises a rotating body (), which is mounted in a vertical shaft () in the vessel () by axial and radial annular bearings (). Above the upper axial and radial bearing () is mounted a dynamic primary seal (), thereby establishing a dry space above the bearings, in the shaft (). Under the bearing is mounted a secondary seal (). A fluid manifold () is placed in the dry shaft space.

Geostationary anchoring and riser arrangement on a ship

The present invention relates to a connection system and a method for connecting and disconnecting a floating unit to and from a buoy which is connected to a subsea installation, where the buoy comprises a first connection device for connecting pipes and/or lines for transfer of fluid, control signals and/or electric power between the buoy and the floating unit. The connection system further comprises a support structure which is laterally movable relative to the floating unit and a swivel stack arrangement movably mounted on the support structure. The swivel stack arrangement comprises a second connection device for connecting to the first connection device in the buoy; shut-off devices for opening and closing at least one of the pipes and/or lines in the first and second connection devices by connecting and disconnecting the buoy; and a turret bearing for rotating the buoy relative to the floating unit.

Connection system and method for connecting and disconnecting a floating unit to and from a buoy which is connected to a subsea installation

Means for transferring electric power and/or signals comprises an electrical power slip-ring system (EPSR) () comprising a housing () containing an electrical slip-rings, the housing () being connected to a support structure () of a vessel () and a brush carrier unit () that is in slidable contact with the electrical conductor means, the brush carrier () being fixed to a turret (). A swivel unit () extends thorough the center of the housing (). The turret () and support structure () may be disposed on the vessel in various configurations such as an internal turret configuration, a submerged turret configuration or an external turret configuration.

Means for transferring electric power in a turret-moored vessel and method of assembly

An apparatus for transferring hydrocarbons from a subsea source to a vessel, wherein the risers are suspended from a rotating body and communicate with a swivel unit including a number of swivel rings having outlets connected to a pipe system on the vessel. The apparatus includes a block arranged between the risers and the swivel unit and provided with interior ducts for connection of the risers with respective swivel rings, and a device for selective closing of the ducts are arranged between the risers and the swivel unit. The device is integrated in the block. In an advantageous embodiment, the block is also provided with a device for selective interconnection of two or more of the ducts in the block.

Apparatus for transferring hydrocarbons from a subsea source to a vessel

A connector arranged for high pressure fluid carrying conduits comprises a central core having at least one fluid passage such as an integral bore, formed therein and an outer member surrounding the central core and being moveable relative thereto. The outer member comprising at least one segment having a fluid flow conduit and sealing means for the connector junction comprising an intermediate member, at least one static seal for non-moveable surfaces and at least one dynamic seal for relatively moveable surface. A plurality of segments may be stacked on top of each other and held together by the application of a compression force on shoulders of the segments. A relative rotational capability is preserved for the parts of the connector yet a more reliable and versatile connector is achieved in which the modular construction allows a variety of sizes to be offered more easily and cheaply and engineering tolerances can be more easily be met than with a single piece construction.
