A quality control method for ultrasound welding. The method provides for the generation of a tolerance range which is adjusted to the progress of the welding process and which is generated from measured values which influence the welding process. A measured value tolerance range is determined from measured values of executed welding processes, the measured values being associated with at least one parameter which influences the welding process and/or represents the goods of the welding process. Measured values are associated with an identical parameter of a further welding process following thereafter and are considered during the quality monitoring in such a way that the measured value tolerance range is changed in its form or composition to an average value for further welding processes, in accordance with the variance between the additional measured values and the tolerance range determined from previous measured values.

Quality control method for ultrasound welding

An ultrasound welding device for welding metallic conductors for producing a junction point includes two welding surfaces, which are located on opposite sides, and two lateral delimiting surfaces, which extend transverse to the working surfaces and which, together, define a compression space. In order to eliminate longitudinal movement of the conductors during welding, at least one of the lateral delimitation surfaces is additionally structured next to the structured welding surfaces.

The invention concerns a method for welding electric conductors using ultrasound, whereby the conductors () are introduced into a compression chamber () that is bounded by at least two boundary elements and are welded after the compression chamber is closed, whereby ultrasound is applied via a sonotrode () and the conductors to be welded are pressurized, preferably via a counter electrode. In order to be able to check the quality of the welding site using simple measures, it is proposed that after welding () the conductors, the compression chamber () is decompressed and then an ultrasound pulse is applied to the welded conductors with simultaneous application of pressure to these, and subsequently the spacing difference between the sonotrode () and the counter electrode () is measured.
