A screen including a filtration media having a manufactured structure with an interface portion and a filtration portion, the filtration portion having a homogenous geometry that precisely balances flow through all flow paths through the media. A method for making a screen including determining a geometric shape of each flow path through a prospective filtration media, sequentially progressively building the media particle by particle ensuring the geometric shape of each flow path is within 0.01 mm of a design geometry, and fusing each build particle to the foregoing build particle. A borehole system, including a borehole in a subsurface formation, a string in the borehole, and a screen and or plurality of individually designed screens disposed or geometrically distributed within or as a part of the string.

Sand screen, method, and system

A biaser including a tubular body having a longitudinal axis, an outside surface, and an inside surface. A first plurality of openings extend from the outside surface to the inside surface, with adjacent ones of the openings each defining a beam extending at a first angle other than along the tubular body axis. A second plurality of openings in the body extend from the outside surface to the inside surface, with adjacent ones of the openings each defining a beam extending at a second angle that is other than along the tubular body axis and other than at the first angle. A method for making the biaser, includes depositing material and fusing the material together according to the geometry of the biaser.

A seal arrangement includes a body having a face seal, and a flexible arm extending from the body. The arm includes a contact seal. A flapper valve, includes a housing, a flapper and a flapper seat. The flapper seat includes a body having a face seal positioned to make sealing contact with the flapper in selected flapper positions A method for sealing a flapper valve includes closing a flapper toward a seat and making a seal, by deflecting a flexible arm of the flapper seat that supports a contact seal. The stimulation port extends through the body. At least one flow port is formed in the body longitudinally spaced from the stimulation port. The at least one flow port extends through the body. A first sleeve is slidingly positioned along the fluid flow path in the body. The first sleeve includes a first ball seat and is selectively positionable to selectively block flow through the stimulation port. A second sleeve is slidingly positioned along the fluid flow path in the body. The second sleeve includes a second ball seat and is selectively positionable to selectively block flow through the flow port and the stimulation port.
