A catalyst that includes heterogeneous metal carbide nanomaterials and a novel preparation method to synthesize the metal carbide nanomaterials under relatively mild conditions to form an encapsulated transition metal and/or transition metal carbide nanoclusters in a support and/or binder. The catalyst may include confined platinum carbide nanoclusters. The preparation may include the treatment of encapsulated platinum nanoclusters with ethane at elevated temperatures. The catalysts may be used for catalytic hydrocarbon conversions, which include but are not limited to, ethane aromatization, and for selective hydrogenation, with negligible green oil production.

Hydrocarbon conversion processes using metal carbide nanomaterial catalysts

The present disclosure relates to the catalytic field, and discloses a catalyst system and a light hydrocarbon aromatization method, a carbon dioxide hydrogenation process and a method for enhancing the catalytic activity and/or lifetime of the catalyst during a heterogeneous catalysis process, the catalyst system comprising a porous material layer containing an active metal component and a molecular sieve layer. The catalyst system provided by the present disclosure exhibits desirable catalytic activity, stability, renewability and selectivity, thus has significant benefits.

Catalyst system and light hydrocarbon aromatization method, carbon dioxide hydrogenation process and method for enhancing catalyst lifetime

The present disclosure provides a modified catalyst, and preparation method and a method for producing aromatic hydrocarbons by aromatization of olefins using the modified catalyst. The modified catalyst comprises an acidic molecular sieve and an olefin aromatization active metal component, the total acid amount of the catalyst as measured by NH-TPD method is not higher than 0.35 mmol/g, and ratio of the strong acid to weak acid is within a range of 0.8-1.2.

Modified catalyst, method for preparing the same, and method for producing aromatic hydrocarbons by aromatization of olefins

A system and a method are provided for producing aromatics. Such a system includes a cracker unit configured to convert a light alkane into an olefin-containing hydrocarbon comprising at least one alkene, and an aromatization unit. The light alkane is selected from the group consisting of methane, ethane, propane, butane, and a combination thereof. The cracker unit is configured to at least partially feed the olefin-containing hydrocarbon into the aromatization unit. Such an olefin-containing hydrocarbon comprises at least 40 wt. % of the at least one alkene. The aromatization unit is used to convert the olefin-containing hydrocarbon therein into a product stream, which includes an aromatic hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of benzene, toluene, xylenes, and a combination thereof.

System and process for converting light alkane to aromatics

The present disclosure provides methods and systems for producing an olefin, such as ethylene and propylene. A method for producing an olefin can comprise injecting an oxidizing agent and methane into an oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) reactor to generate ethylene. The methane and/or additional feedstocks for the OCM reactor can be derived from a thermal cracking or fluidized catalytic cracking (FCC) process. The ethylene generated in the OCM reactor can be converted to propylene through a dimerization unit and metathesis unit.
