A failsafe for a transdermal apparatus for a prosthetic appendage can include a first plate, a second plate, and a breakaway connector. The first plate can have a central axis, a proximal portion, and a distal end. The distal end can be opposite the proximal portion, and the distal end can be securable with a prosthetic external to skin and can be configured to simulate an appendage of a patient. The second plate can be aligned with the central axis and can include a proximal end and a distal portion. The proximal end can be securable to a transdermal implant, and can extend proximally from the second plate. The distal portion can be opposite the proximal end, and the distal portion can be configured to interface with the proximal portion of the first plate. The breakaway connector can be couplable within the second plate and the first plate.

Failsafe device for prosthetic limb

Porous regions are formed using selected additive manufacturing techniques. The porous regions can assist in fibro-inductive regions and/or osteo-inductive regions. A prosthetic member can be formed completely with the additive manufacturing technique and/or the additive manufacturing techniques can be used to form an augment portion that is added to the prosthetic member formed separately.

Directional porous coating

A modular transdermal assembly configured to couple an external prosthetic device to a bone stump. The assembly includes a modular transdermal portion and a bone fixator. The modular transdermal portion includes an interface portion configured to couple with the external prosthetic device. The bone fixator is configured to be secured to the bone stump and couple with the modular transdermal portion to retain the modular transdermal portion relative to the bone stump.

Modular transdermal compress device

A transdermal intraosseous device for coupling a bone stump to an external prosthetic device includes a bone fixator, an external connector and a plurality of modular interface components. The bone fixator includes a proximal portion configured for anchoring into the bone stump of the patient and a distal portion including a base collar configured for subcutaneous implantation. The external connector has a distal portion for coupling to the external prosthetic device and a proximal portion for coupling to the distal portion of the bone fixator. Each interface component can be removably coupled to the base collar and has different size and shape to provide a surgeon-selected transition between the prosthetic device and the patient's skin.

Transdermal intraosseous device

A transdermal intraosseous device includes a transdermal adapter for an external prosthetic device for a bone of a patient and a bone fixator including a distal portion coupled to the transdermal adapter and a proximal portion for anchoring into the bone. The transdermal adapter includes a dome-shaped portion for transcutaneous implantation and an external shaft extending from the dome-shaped portion. A dermal transition structure is configured to include a controlled roughness gradient from the external shaft to the dome-shaped portion and configured for use in infection control at a dermis layer of the patient.

A knee prosthesis system constructed in accordance to one example of the present disclosure can include a femoral component, a tibial component, a first femoral component insert, a second femoral component insert, a first tibial bearing, and a second tibial bearing. The knee prosthesis system may be configured in one of a non-hinged configuration and a second hinged configuration. In the first non-hinged configuration, the first femoral component insert is positioned relative to the femoral component and the first tibial bearing is positioned onto the tibial component. In the second hinged configuration, the second femoral component insert is positioned relative to the femoral component and the second tibial bearing is positioned onto the tibial component.

Knee prosthesis systems and methods

A method and apparatus for coupling soft tissue to a prosthetic is disclosed. Soft tissue attachment pads having porous metal attachment regions and suture accepting holes are selectively positioned onto an implantable prosthetic to provide coupling locations.
