A fluid dispenser includes a lid that defines an opening and that includes a first sealing element. The fluid dispenser further includes a flexible fluid delivery component that defines an interior fluid channel. The flexible fluid delivery component includes a second sealing element configured to cooperate with the first sealing element of the lid to form a fluid-tight seal between the flexible fluid delivery component and the lid and a valve element configured to cooperate with the opening in the lid to regulate an airflow through the opening in the lid.

Dispensing fluids from drinking containers

Featured herein is a surgical airway device () that is constructed and arranged to be placed into the mouth of a patient to maintain a surgical airway in the patient. Also featured is a method of using such a surgical airway device (). The surgical airway device () has a flange () that is constructed and arranged to be located outside of the mouth, an inner tube () that defines a working channel () defining an anterior opening in the flange () and located proximate the lips, and a posterior end () located in the back of the mouth. There is an outer tube () that is generally coaxial with, spaced from and fully or partially surrounds the inner tube (), wherein a coaxial gap () is located between at least part of the outer tube () and the inner tube (). There is a first lumen () that is in fluid communication with the working channel () and a second lumen () that is in fluid communication with the coaxial gap ().

A lid assembly for connecting with an associated drinking cup includes a cover and a cap. The cover is configured to attach with the associated drinking cup for covering an open top of the associated drinking cup. The cover is formed of a soft, flexible material and includes an integrally molded spout and an integrally molded cap mount. The cap is configured to connect with the cap mount for pivotal movement with respect to the cover about a pivot axis. With the cap connected to the cap mount, the cap is moveable between an open position where the spout is accessible to be received inside a person's mouth and a closed position where the cap covers the spout.

The teat () has a nipple portion () with an orifice () at a terminal end, and defines an interior profile shaped by intersecting reverse curves () that generally decrease the interior diameter of the nipple portion () toward the orifice (), so as to channel fluid flow into the orifice (). There is a flange portion () constructed and arranged to be releasably coupled to the bottle () such that the liquid can flow from the bottle () into the teat (), and a convexly shaped intermediate portion () integrally connecting the nipple portion () to the flange portion (). A pressure relief valve () built into the teat () is constructed and arranged to admit air into the interior of at least one of the teat () and the bottle ().

A shield for a pacifier, teether, feeding device, sippy cup or the like. The shield carries a structure that is adapted to be inserted into the mouth of a young child. There is a body defining an opening at which the structure is carried and an inner surface surrounding this opening and encompassing the perioral areas surrounding the lips. The body defines a superior portion superior to the opening and an inferior portion inferior to the opening, and defines a lateral axis passing laterally through the opening. The superior portion is generally concave laterally on both sides of the vertical midline, to define an inner surface that closely conforms to the upper lip and perioral areas. At least the part of the inferior portion close to and on either side of the vertical midline is offset outward away from the face compared to the inner surface of the superior portion that is close to and on either side of the vertical midline, to allow the mandible to move anteriorly without being inhibited by the shield.

A lid assembly for a drink container includes a cap, a wall and a valve member. The cap fits onto a drink container and includes a spout defining a drink passage and a vent opening offset from the drink passage. The wall depends downwardly from a lower surface of the cap and surrounds the drink passage and the vent opening. The valve member is selectively receivable within a cavity defined by the wall. With the valve member received in the cavity and the cap fit onto the drink container, a first seal isolates the vent opening from the drink passage, a second seal is movable with respect to the wall and selectively contacts the wall to selectively isolate the vent opening from liquid in the drink container, and a third seal selectively isolates the drink passage from liquid in the drink container.

A tubular prosthesis has a plurality of tubular rings that are radially expandable from a contracted configuration to an expanded configuration. Each ring comprises a plurality of axially oriented struts that are interconnected so as to form a circumferential series of at least one high peak and at least one low peak. The high and low peaks have apices that are oriented in the same axial direction. The apices of the high and low peaks are also oriented in the same direction and the apices of the high peaks are axially offset from the apices of the low peaks. A bridge member couples a pair of adjacent tubular rings together. The bridge member has a first end connected to a first low peak in a first tubular ring and a second end connected to either a high or low peak in an adjacent tubular ring.

A two-phase surgical procedure is disclosed for creating a pneumostoma to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease The first phase is a procedure to induce creation of a localized pleurodesis and is preferably performed as an outpatient procedure. The second phase is a procedure to introduce a surgical instrument into the lung via the pleurodesis to create the pneumostoma. An interval of about one of more days between the first and second phases allows the formation of a stable pleurodesis to prevent pneumothorax during the procedure.
