A gaming table contains a number of antennas that are de-tuned from the resonant frequency of a single RFID tag. This increases the power required to read the single tag but matches the resonant frequency for reading a stack of RFID tags. The gaming table may further include a network analyzer and a set of capacitors that are dynamically switched among the antennas according to measuring the reflection coefficient of the antennas.

A radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag includes circuit elements that result in a resonant frequency that differs from the excitation frequency of an RFID reader. The RFID tag, when stacked with other similar RFID tags, channels the magnetic flux density field (B-field) through the stack to power each of the tags in the stack. As a result, the B-Field is collimated in a manner that increases the sensitivity (read range) in one dimension (up a stack of chips) while simultaneously limiting the sensitivity in the two lateral dimensions, thereby providing precise spatial resolution of each tag as to its location on a gaming table.

A multi-sample differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) allows for the processing samples concurrently for high-throughput sample processing. The multi-sample DSC includes a test chamber; a sample cartridge located inside the test chamber, in which the sample cartridge comprises a plurality of sample wells arranged at a periphery of the sample cartridge; a plurality of temperature sensors, in which each temperature sensor measures a respective temperature of a respective sample well; and a processor configured to selectively determine a difference in temperature between any two or more sample wells of the plurality of sample wells.

A point-of-care diagnostic system that includes a cartridge and a reader. The cartridge can contain a patient sample, such as a blood sample. The cartridge is inserted into the reader and the patient sample is analyzed. The reader contains various analysis systems, such as an electrophoresis detection system that uses electrophoresis testing to identify and quantify various components of the blood sample. The reader can process data from the various patient sample analysis to provide interpretative results indicative of a disorder, condition, disease and/or infection of the patient.

Diagnostics systems and methods

The cartridge is inserted into the reader and the patient sample is analyzed. The reader contains various analysis systems, such as a magneto-optical system that measures a light transmission differential through the patient sample in varying magnetic fields. The reader can process data from the various patient sample analysis to provide interpretative results indicative of a disease, infection and/or condition of the patient.

More than one antenna can receive the RFID signals during a single read cycle, enabling the RFID system to operate more quickly than a system that energizes antennas separately.
