An insertion shaft for an electrically actuated scope includes at least two wires. Each wire has a proximal end anchored to a respective proximal anchoring point and a distal end anchored to a respective distal anchoring point. The wires are disposed around a central axis and extend along the insertion shaft. Each of the wires comprises two-way memory material configured to contract when heated to or above a first predetermined temperature and return to a predetermined original length thereof upon cooling to or below a second predetermined temperature below the first predetermined temperature. The length of each wire is larger than a length along the insertion shaft between the proximal anchoring point and the distal anchoring point to which the wire is anchored, such that each of the wires is incorporated in the insertion shaft with a predetermined slack.

A device for delivering medication is presented. The device has a conduit with an upstream end and a downstream end. The downstream end of the conduit delivers the medication. The device has a housing with an open end and an end forming a flat substrate. The housing receives a syringe containing medication and having a plunger. The device also has mechanism for releasing the medication from the syringe and a mechanism for pressurizing the medication. The device has a connector from providing a connection between the syringe and the upstream end of the conduit.

Combined laryno-tracheal anesthetic and stylet device

A device for delivering medication is presented. The device has a conduit with an upstream end and a downstream end. The downstream end of the conduit delivers the medication. The device has a housing with an open end and an end forming a flat substrate. The housing receives a vial containing a liquid and having a stopper. The device also has a valve for releasing the liquid from the vial into the conduit. The valve can be opened and closed by a user of the device. To release the liquid a piston is utilized to exert pressure on the stopper of the vial and the liquid is dispensed through a needle into the conduit.
