A method of retaining a hammer tool in the front head of a powercell assembly of a hammer assembly includes biasing a hammer tool retaining pin such that a portion of the tool retaining pin extends into a tool receiving bore of the front head of the powercell assembly, holding a hammer tool in the tool receiving bore of the front head of the powercell assembly via the tool retaining pin, and releasing the hammer tool remotely from the hammer assembly.

Quick connect and disconnect hammer tool

A hydraulic hammer assembly is provided. The hydraulic hammer assembly includes a housing and a piston is arranged for reciprocating movement along a longitudinal axis within the housing. A head disposed along the longitudinal axis on an end of the housing and defines a chamber for holding a pressurized gas. The hydraulic hammer assembly further includes a locking mechanism to lock the head on the housing. The locking mechanism includes at least one first flange extending radially from the end of the housing and at least one second flange extending radially from the head, wherein the head is retained on the housing by blocking axial movement of the second flange against the first flange when in a locked position.

Hydraulic hammer assembly

A hydraulic hammer is provided. The hydraulic hammer includes a fluid inlet configured to receive a pressurized fluid for running the hydraulic hammer and a fluid outlet for discharging hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic hammer. A bypass passage fluidly connects the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet, the bypass passage has a bypass inlet fluidly connected to the fluid inlet and a bypass outlet fluidly connected to the fluid outlet. An automatic shut-off valve is disposed in the bypass passage between the bypass inlet and the bypass outlet and is configured to open or close the bypass passage. The automatic shut-off valve is configured to open the bypass passage under pressure of the pressurized fluid on continuous running of the hydraulic hammer for a set time to stop the hammer.

Hammer protection system and method

A method of regulating the disassembly of a component from a powered tool assembly that uses a pressurized fluid and a locking member that is in operative association or communication with the fluid is provided. The method comprises biasing the locking member into a locked configuration using the pressurized fluid, preventing movement of the component in a first predetermined direction.
