Agricultural implements often include one or more vision-based or chemical detection-based sensors mounted thereon to monitor various parameters associated with the performance of such agricultural operations. During the performance of agricultural operations, the implement may encounter topographical irregularities or impediments within the field. The topographical irregularities or impediments may jar the implement, thereby causing one or more components of the implement to vibrate. Such vibrations are, in turn, transmitted from the implement frame to the sensors, which may result in the data being captured by the sensors having poor quality. Therefore, an agricultural implement may include a support arm coupled thereon and configured to reduce the magnitude of the vibrations transferred to the sensors by dissipating or otherwise absorbing the vibrations being transferred to the sensors.

An agricultural machine includes a LiDAR sensor configured to generate a three-dimensional point cloud depicting a portion of a field surface present within a field of view of the LiDAR sensor. Furthermore, the agricultural machine includes a computing system configured to receive the generated three-dimensional point cloud from the LiDAR sensor. Additionally, the computing system is configured to generate a plurality of two-dimensional point cloud slices from the received three-dimensional point cloud, with the plurality of two-dimensional point cloud slices being spaced apart from each other such that each of two-dimensional point cloud slices corresponds to a different two-dimensional plane within the received three-dimensional point cloud. Moreover, the computing system is configured to determine a surface finish parameter associated with the portion of the field surface present within the field of view of the LiDAR sensor based on the generated plurality of two-dimensional point cloud slices.

An agricultural implement includes a ground-engaging tool and a computing system. In this respect, the computing system is configured to determine a surface profile of a portion of a field positioned aft of the ground-engaging tool based on the image data generated by a first imaging device. Moreover, the computing system is configured to determine a surface profile of a portion of the field positioned forward of the ground-engaging tool based on the image data generated by a second imaging device. In addition, the computing system is configured to determine when the ground-engaging tool is plugged based on the surface profile of the portion of the field positioned aft of the ground-engaging tool and the surface profile of the portion of the field positioned forward of the ground-engaging tool.

System and method for detecting ground-engaging tool plugging on an agricultural implement

An agricultural implement includes a frame and a basket assembly supported on the frame. The basket assembly, in turn, includes including a plurality of circumferentially arranged blades such that the basket assembly is configured to roll relative to a surface of a field as the agricultural implement travels across the field. Furthermore, the plurality of circumferentially arranged blades define a plurality of voids and at least partially defining an interior cavity within the basket assembly, with each void being defined between an adjacent pair of the plurality of circumferentially arranged blades. Additionally, the agricultural implement includes a bladder positioned within the interior cavity, with the bladder configured to be inflated and deflated such that the bladder expands and contracts relative to the plurality of circumferentially arranged blades to force field materials present within the interior cavity outward through the plurality of voids.

System and method for de-plugging basket assemblies of an agricultural implement

In one aspect, a system for acquiring data associated with an agricultural field. The system includes an agricultural machine and a data acquisition (DAQ) module supported relative to the agricultural machine. The DAQ module includes a module housing and one or more sensing devices housed within the module housing. The one or more sensing device are configured to generate data associated with a condition of a field as the agricultural machine travels across the field. In addition, the system includes an air circulation system provided in operative association with the DAQ module that is configured to direct an airflow into an interior of the module housing for circulation therein.
