There is provided a system including a wearable absorbent hygiene article defining a front waist region, a back waist region, a crotch region and a longitudinal axis. The wearable absorbent hygiene article includes a liquid permeable top layer, a back layer opposite to the top layer, and an absorbent core in the crotch region and located between the top layer and the back layer. The absorbent core has a core length along the longitudinal axis. The system further includes a hygiene monitoring device including a sensing panel, which has an elongate flexible panel defining a longitudinal axis and having plates. The hygiene monitoring device is configured to measure the impedance between two of the plates. The extent of the plates along the longitudinal axis of the elongate flexible panel defines a sensing length. The sensing length is 50% to 100% of the core length.

System including a wearable absorbent hygiene article and a hygiene monitoring device

A wearable absorbent hygiene article includes an electronics unit, a power source and a magnetic switch. The magnetic switch operably couples the electronics unit to the power source. The magnetic switch is configured such that the power source supplies power to the electronics unit when the magnetic switch is in an ON state and such that the power source does not supply power to the electronics unit when the magnetic switch is in an OFF state. The magnetic switch is further configured such that a movement of a magnet relative to the magnetic switch switches the magnetic switch from the OFF state to the ON state.

A wearable absorbent hygiene article includes a liquid permeable top layer, a back layer, an absorbent member, an electronics unit, a power source and a switch. The switch operably couples the electronics unit to the power source. The switch is configured such that the power source supplies power to the electronics unit when the switch is in an ON state and such that the power source does not supply power to the electronics unit when the switch is in an OFF state. The power source, the switch and at least a portion of the electronics unit are disposed between the top layer and the back layer.

A wearable absorbent article includes a conductor arrangement. Including a plurality of elongate conductors, each conductor extending along an extension direction. At least some of the conductors have different lengths from each other in the respective extension directions. Those of the at least some of the conductors which have larger lengths in the respective extension directions have lower electrical resistances per unit length than those of the at least some of the conductors which have smaller lengths in the respective extension directions.

A method for monitoring use of an absorbent product, such as an incontinence pad or a diaper, worn by a wearer is provided. The method includes obtaining, by way of a mobile device, intake information indicative of intake of fluid and/or solid material by the wearer, obtaining, by way of the mobile device, voiding information indicative of urinary and/or faecal voiding by the wearer, predicting, based on the intake and voiding information, future voiding by the wearer, and providing, by way of the mobile device, product-related information based on the prediction. In this way, the product-wearer or his caregiver can be provided with valuable information related to the use of the product, for example recommendations on when to change the product.

A method for determining the location of a fecal insult, includes: detecting the concentration of at least one gas indicative of feces at a plurality of locations in a defined space; and determining whether said concentration of said gas exceeds a predetermined first threshold value. An absorbent article includes an absorbent pad and a belt to which the pad is detachably attached and which is intended to be attached to a separate belt that is placed around the waist of the wearer to hold the pad when the article is being worn, wherein the absorbent pad exhibits a chassis including a liquid-permeable top sheet and a liquid-impermeable back sheet oriented away from the wearer and an absorbent core between the top sheet and the back sheet. The difference in kinetic coefficients of friction measured with ASTM D 1894-08 standard between the back sheet of the pad and the outwardly oriented surface of the belt is at maximum 0.5. The attachment between the belt and the pad will then not cease due to the movement of the article relative to the surroundings when the belted-article is being used, thereby preventing contamination and leakage caused by detachment.
