Method for the manufacture of a colored polymer composition comprising a polymer, a release agent and a colorant, the method comprising the steps of feeding a solid form of a release agent composition comprising said release agent and said colorant to a feed section of a melt mixing device, feeding said polymer to said melt mixing device and mixing said release agent composition and said polymer in said melt mixing device at a temperature above the melting temperature of said polymer, wherein—said colorant is a pigment, or a dye which is soluble in said release agent, —said polymer comprises or consists of polycarbonate, —the release agent is selected from the group consisting of penta-erythritol tetra stearate, glycerol monostearate, glycerol tristearate and mixtures thereof.

Method for the manufacture of a colored polymer composition

In various aspects, the disclosure relates to polycarbonate compositions exhibiting improved impact strength, both multi axial and notched Izod, as well as thin-walled flame resistance while free or substantially free of bromine or chlorine flame retardant additives. The polycarbonate compositions may comprise non-bonding glass fiber, butyl tosylate, and/or a phosphorous based stabilizer.

In an embodiment, a method for the manufacture of an injection molded article in an injection mold comprises at least one flow length of at least 50 cm, the flow length being defined as the shortest distance between a point of injection in the mold and an inner mold wall, the method comprising injection molding a polycarbonate composition comprising an aromatic polycarbonate, from 0.01 wt. % to 0.30 wt. % based on the weight of the polycarbonate composition of an epoxy additive having at least two epoxy groups per molecule, and from 0.01 wt. % to 0.30 wt. % based on the weight of the polycarbonate composition of a phenolic diphosphite derived from pentaerythritol.

Color stable thermoplastic composition

A thermoplastic polymer composition comprises a cyanophenyl endcapped polycarbonate, a potassium diphenyl sulphon-3-sulphonate; and brominated polycarbonate. In some embodiments, when the thermoplastic polymer composition is in the form of a 3 mm thick extruded sheet, the sheet has a smoke density of less than 200 at an exposure period of 240 seconds in accordance with the smoke density test as set forth in ASTM E662-06, and has no burning drips on the sheet for a duration of 10 minutes in accordance with the flammability test as set forth in NF-P-92-505.

Flame retardant thermoplastic polymer composition, method of manufacture, and articles formed therefrom

A thermoplastic composition can comprise: polycarbonate, aromatic sulphone sulphonate, aromatic sulphonate, and brominated polycarbonate. In an embodiment, when the composition is formed into a 3 mm thick extruded sheet, the sheet can have a smoke density of less than 200 at an exposure period of 240 seconds in accordance with the smoke density test as set forth in ASTM E662-06, and a burn length of less than 150 mm, a drip flame time of less than 3 seconds, and an overall flame time of less than 15 seconds in accordance with the flammability test as set forth in 14 C.F.R. 25.853, Appendix F, Part I(a)(1)(ii).

Flame retardant thermoplastic composition and articles formed therefrom

Polycarbonate compositions are disclosed. The compositions comprise an optional polycarbonate polymer (A); a polycarbonate-polysiloxane copolymer (B); a phosphorous-containing flame retardant (C); and a reinforcing agent (D). The resulting compositions have an improved combination of properties, particularly Vicat softening temperature and high flame retardance in thin walls.
