Data that is derived from a medical device connected to or communicating with, a patient monitor mount, is detected by the patient monitor mount. The data is monitored for events associated with the medical device. The patient monitor mount then determines that the monitored event corresponds to an event. The patient monitor mount generates at least one command for a visualization device to change the data displayed on the visualization device. The command is then transmitted to the visualization device. Related apparatus, systems, methods and articles are also described.

Intelligent patient monitor mount

A method and computer-readable recording media using a self-describing module for updating data in a medical monitoring device. The self-describing module includes a metadata block (MDB) that includes at least identification (ID) data and corresponding configuration data. The medical monitoring device includes a plurality of sub-systems. Associating ID data from the MDB with ID data of the plurality of sub-systems of the medical monitoring device, and then updating configuration data of at least one sub-system with the configuration data in the MDB based on the result of the association.

Method and computer-readable recording medium for using a self-describing module for updating data in a medical monitoring device

A device and system using same that enables a non-native device to be a self-describing module or communicate in the same protocol as the system protocol for updating data in a medical device and system describing same. In one embodiment, the translation device described herein comprises a processor that converts the non-self-describing protocol (SDP) data into an SDP communication standard and connects to a rack, medical device, a multi-function medical device, or other components within a medical system.

Self-describing protocol translation device

A device, such as a data network device for a medical data network, controls an operating state of a second medical device in such a way that by sending a request message, the second medical device is prompted to change over into the operating state of the combined therapy and hence into an operating state in which its actuator is controlled as a function of an information signal of the first medical device. The information signal is based on physiological measured values. As a result, a clinician does not have to configure the second medical device himself/herself directly on site at the medical device by inputting an input signal, but this can be carried out by the device.

A medical device has a device component with an operating state controllable by predefining a predefined value for an operating parameter. A data network interface receives a data message from a central network computer. The data message indicates whether the central network computer is in a blocked state concerning potential user inputs into an input unit of the network computer. The medical device further has an input unit for the potential input of an input value and at least one control unit configured to predefine the predefined value as a function of the input value to the device component as well as to block the input unit for inputs of a user. The control unit is further configured to block the input unit for the input of the input value as a function of the indicated state of the central network computer.
