Embodiments herein relate to a vehicle, including a first plurality of devices associated with a first vehicle function and a second plurality of devices associated with a second vehicle function. The first communication network communicatively couples each of the first plurality of devices to each other, communicatively couples each of the second plurality of devices to each other, and communicatively couple the first plurality of devices to the second plurality of devices. Further, a second communication network communicatively couples less than all of the first plurality of devices to less than all of the second plurality of devices, where the second communication network transmits messages determined to be critical from a first device of the first plurality of devices to a first device of the second plurality of devices.

Dual-network for fault tolerance

Various embodiments relate generally to autonomous vehicles and associated mechanical, electrical and electronic hardware, computing software, including autonomy applications, image processing applications, etc., and computing systems, and wired and wireless network communications to facilitate autonomous control of vehicles, and, more specifically, to systems, devices, and methods configured to navigate autonomous vehicles under one or more fault conditions. In some examples, a method may include localizing an autonomous vehicle, accessing map data to identify safe zones, computing drive parameters and alternate drive parameters, detecting an anomalous event, and apply alternate drive parameters to a vehicle control unit.

Navigation of autonomous vehicles to enhance safety under one or more fault conditions

Data is managed in a Host Wireless Adapater (HWA)-Device Wireless Adapater (DWA) system by receiving at the HWA a wireless packet from the DWA which contains a DWA Transfer Result message. At the HWA, the DWA Transfer Result message is parsed. In the event parsing the DWA Transfer Result message indicates there is data ready to be sent over a wireless channel between the HWA to the DWA a Micro-scheduled Management Command (MMC) is generating at the HWA and the MMC is transmitted from the HWA to the DWA. The MMC is transmitted prior to receiving a Transfer Request message at the HWA from an HWA driver and the data is transmitted from the DWA to the HWA in response to receiving the MMC.
