Systems and methods provide assistance to an operator of a material handling vehicle. Provided systems and methods include receiving vehicle condition data at a first material handling vehicle from a second material handling vehicle when the second material handling vehicle is within a predetermined communication range, determining a first predicted vehicle position for the first material handling vehicle based on current vehicle conditions, determining a second predicted vehicle position for the second material handling vehicle based on the received vehicle condition data, and determining if the first predicted vehicle position for the first material handling vehicle overlaps with the second predicted vehicle position for the second material handling vehicle. Upon the determination that the first predicted vehicle position overlaps with the second predicted vehicle position, the operator of the first material handling vehicle is provided an indication.

Systems and methods for material handling vehicle simulation are provided. In one aspect, a method for material handling vehicle simulation using a material handling vehicle includes connecting a simulation controller to a simulation port, providing an input to a soft switch on a touch screen, upon providing the input to the soft switch on the touch screen, triggering the material handing vehicle to transition from the standard mode to the simulation mode, and projecting a simulated environment onto a simulation display. The simulated environment is configured to simulate operation of the material handling vehicle on the simulation display.

When the vehicle controller is in the simulation mode, the simulation controller is configured to simulate operation of the material handling vehicle on the simulation display in response to manipulation of at least one of the plurality of controls.

A visual examination apparatus for administering a photostress recovery test. The photo pigments of the cones of the subject eye are conditioned to a steady state by exposure to a dim light which retro-illuminates an optotype. The size of the optotype is related to the visual acuity of the subject eye. A bright light source of repeatable duration and intensity and spectral distribution of energy is directed to bleach the photo pigments of the cones of the macula. A common switch triggers the flash and starts a digital timer. After the flash, a different optotype of the same size as the initial one is substituted therefor. When the subject eye recovers from the dazzling flash sufficiently to detect the different optotype, the timer is stopped. The length of time required for the cones of the macula to regenerate photo pigment is dependent upon whether the cones are normal and on their apposition to the retinal pigment epithelium. The recovery time period indicates a normal or abnormal condition of the cones of the macula.

The means shown and described in the specifications to activate the covers can be modified and/or varied using different means. A year of evaluating and testing a working model of a toaster using the disclosed design proved it to be economically alnd practically superior over other means being considered. Its means of operation prevented damaging of food which, for any reason, protruded out of the toaster's receptacles. The normal operation of the toaster is not affected. The covers do not interfere with the pop up of the toaster. The versatility of the covers' design permits it to be utilized to cover the receptacles to keep the toast warm after toasting without the use of electrical energy, and to cover the receptacles when the toaster is not being used. Better tasting toast is produced as the result of convection toasting effected by the covering of the receptacles.
