The present disclosure includes systems and methods for deriving certain characteristics of the patient's body related to motion from captured motion data. The characteristics may be used to compare the characteristics of the supposed injury to the characteristics of a normally functioning body part as well as the functions of an injured body part. The present disclosure provides a reliable and reproducible way to determine whether a supposed injury is a feigned or exaggerated injury or an actual injury.

Feigned injury detection systems and methods

An accessory for a hand-held electronics device having an integrated camera unit includes a member for attachment along an outer surface of the hand-held electronics device, the member having an aperture defined therethrough. The aperture is positioned along the member such that when the member is attached to the hand-held electronics device, the aperture is positioned adjacent the camera unit of the hand-held electronics device to allow for image capture thereby. A light element is disposed within the aperture and a lens mounted in a stationary position within the aperture of the member modifies the optical power of the camera unit.

An improvement to a cellular camera phone comprising a source of illumination positioned adjacent to the camera unit and configured to illuminate a portion of an underlying surface within the field of view the camera unit; programming effective to (a) collect a current tracking image frame, (b) compare the current tracking image frame with a prior tracking image frame, (c) compute a relative displacement between the tracking image frames, and (d) store the current tracking image frame as a prior tracking image frame; and a wireless peripheral interface, wherein the wireless peripheral interface communicates the relative displacement to a computer. A photoprinter configuration comprising a digital camera having a viewable display and one or more selection mechanisms. A photoprinter is connected to the digital camera via a communication link, wherein the photoprinter is operative to control the viewable display of the digital camera. Preferably, the photoprinter is further operative to direct the results from a user's inputs to the selection mechanisms of the digital camera. The photoprinter is operable as a client to a host computer, as a host for the digital camera, and a passthrough device such that the host computer may initiate requests to the digital camera.

Photoprinter control of peripheral devices

A stand-alone printing apparatus for transferring one or more digital photographs captured by a digital device to a printable medium. The printing apparatus includes an input member for receiving the digital photographs from a source and image processing for generating an image corresponding to each of the digital photographs. A graphical user interface with video display is integrated within the printing apparatus and includes a plurality of different states in which to preview the digital photograph images, select photographs for printing, and preview a printed page of selected photographs.

Printer apparatus with integrated graphical user interface and method for using the same

A photoprinter configuration comprising a digital camera having a viewable display and one or more selection mechanism. A first method obtains a printer having a single-printhead horizontal resolution of H dpi. Dots are printed using first and second printheads in the same print pass. The first printhead is enabled and the second printhead is non-enabled during a first portion of a carrier-movement distance equal to 1/H, and the second printhead is enabled and the first printhead is non-enabled during a second non-overlapping portion of such distance. A printer and a printhead driver for performing the first method are described. A second method obtains a printer having a single-printhead resolution of H horizontal dpi by V vertical dpi. First print data for the first printhead and second print data for the second printhead of H/2 horizontal dpi by V vertical dpi are obtained, are horizontally interlaced creating H horizontal dpi by V vertical dpi, and are printed using the first and second printheads in the same print pass.

Method, printer and printhead driver for printing using two printheads

An autosecuring solenoid utilizes an interposing device that restrains the solenoid plunger when the solenoid is de-energized and/or energized, effectively preventing undesired movement of the plunger. When a voltage is applied across the coil, the flowing current creates an magnetic field. This field causes the plunger to slide within the solenoid cavity, unless restrained. This field also causes displacement of a movable magnet in the interposing device. The direction of motion of the movable magnet will depend on the magnetic field orientation of the movable magnet with respect to the magnetic field. Thus, the interposing device may move either toward or away from the plunger. Additionally, if using two interposing devices, one device could move away from the plunger and the second device could move toward the plunger. The second interposing device could even permit the plunger to move until the second interposing device engaged a recess or notch in the plunger. The first and/or second interposing devices may be restored by attraction between the movable magnet and the plunger or top of the interposing housing when the solenoid is de-energized. Alternatively, a second small magnet, spring, or other device in the housing of the interposing device returns the movable magnet to its desired position when the solenoid is de-energized.

Autosecuring solenoid

The technique for electronically resetting a magnetically sealed solenoid to an unattracted, unactuated position is described for use with solenoids which have either a residual magnetic or a permanent magnet holding force necessary to retain the armature of the solenoid in its actuated position until such time as the armature is either physically displaced by a mechanical force or an electronic signal is applied to the solenoid. This displacement creates a reverse polarity magnetic field, effectively overcoming the magnetic field acting to hold the armature in its actuated position, permitting a small mechanical force to reset the armature. In order to prevent a lock or similar device from being conditioned for opening and possibly left in that condition for a significant period of time while unattended, jeopardizing the security of the container and its contents, the actuation of the armature in the reset or release phase may occur a relatively short time following its actuation.
