A jet printing ink composition for printing on treated or untreated surfaces of polyolefin plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene in which the ink composition has a pH within the range of 7.0-10.5 and which is formulated to contain 5-20% by weight styrene-acrylic copolymer resin, 3-12 parts by weight plasticizer per 100 parts by weight of resin, 0-20 parts by weight modifying resin per 100 parts by weight of resin, 0.5-6% by weight colorant, 0-10% by weight evaporation retardant, the remainder being water and C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alcohol in the ratio of 80-10 parts by weight alcohol to 20-90 parts by weight water.

Ink composition for printing on polyolefin

A fluorescent printing ink for non-impact type application, especially used for coding purposes, in which the fluid ink composition is formulated of an organic solvent base containing 0.005 to 2.0% by weight fluorescent dye, up to 60% by weight resinous binder, up to 5% by weight of an organic brightener, and 0.1 to 3.0% by weight organic phosphor, and which also includes an evaporation retardant in an amount within the range of 2 to 30% by weight and an alkali metal thiocyanate in an amount up to 2% by weight, and in which the ingredients are all dissolved in the organic solvent.

Fluorescent ink for automatic identification

An ink composition for printing onto the surfaces of glass or other glazed ceramic surfaces by jet printing in which the preferred formulation for the printing ink composition comprises 2 - 20% by weight of a linear novolac resin, 0.6 - 3% by weight of an alcohol or water and alcohol soluble dyestuff, 3 - 7% by weight of an evaporation retardant in the form of a glycol ether or glycol ester, with the remainder water and alcohol, with the water present in an amount up to 50% by weight of the alcohol and which may contain a soluble ionizable salt when the electrical resistivity of the ink composition exceeds 2000 ohm/cm.
