A flash memory device including a first memory array, a control circuit coupled to the first memory array, and a second independent memory array coupled to the control circuit. The first memory array includes a plurality of memory blocks each having a memory cell. The memory cell may be a nonvolatile flash memory cell. The control circuit controls the programming, erasing, and reading of the memory cells. The second memory array includes a plurality of block lock-bits each corresponding to one of the plurality of memory blocks. The state of each block lock-bit indicates whether the memory cell in the corresponding memory block is locked. The second memory array may also include a master lock-bit that indicates whether the block lock-bits are locked.

In accordance with embodiments of the present invention, an ink-jet ink can comprise a metallized phthalocyanine dye and a liquid vehicle carrying the dye. The liquid vehicle can include an amine additive present in the ink-jet ink at an effective concentration to cause improvement of ozone fastness. The improvement can be determined by comparing the ozone fastness of the ink-jet ink with a control ink-jet ink that does not include the amine additive.

Two co-catalysts selected from the transitional metals can be employed in proton exchange membrane fuel cells to catalyze a borohydride anolyte, such that diatomic hydrogen produced on the surface of a particle of a first catalyst is diffused to an adjacent surface of a particle of a second catalyst. At the second catalyst the diatomic hydrogen is catalyzed to produce hydrogen ions, which are employed as the mobile ion transported across the electrolyte concurrent with the generation of electrical current. The present invention concerns a fuel supply for a fuel cell. The fuel supply includes a fuel storage area configured to hold a fuel solution, a fuel solution outlet configured to pass the fuel solution from the fuel storage area, a waste storage area, a waste inlet configured to pass waste into the waste storage area, and a movable barrier separating the fuel storage area and the waste storage area. The movable barrier is configured to move as fuel solution is passed from the fuel storage area and waste solution is passed into the waste storage area to simultaneously decrease the volume of the fuel storage area and increase the volume of the waste storage area.

An aqueous ink-jet ink composition for printing on offset media is disclosed comprising an ink colorant, an effective amount of at least one surfactant, and an effective amount of at least one aprotic polar solvent wherein the solvent is comprised of molecules having a molecular weight from 40 to 1500. Optionally, an effective amount of a non-aprotic polar solvent can be added. The aqueous ink-jet inks of the present invention are effective for printing on many commercially available offset papers and other media.

A method for dispersing a pigment in an aqueous solution is provided. The treated pigment is rendered comparatively soluble in water-based inks, thereby eliminating the need for any dispersant to disperse the pigment.

The present invention relates to ink-jet ink compositions that comprise modified pigment particles (macromolecular chromophores) having functional groups covalently attached for water solubility and reactive moieties covalently attached to the pigments. MMC with such reactive moieties attached can either a) react directly with cellulose or other textile material or, b) can participate in polymerization reactions. These reactive moieties may in turn be further derivatized to provide the desirable attribute, such as enhanced smearfastness, enhanced print quality, improved bleed control, and improved resistance to water when applied to the media. Moreover, inks formulated with these reactive MMCs demonstrate viscosity and surface tension characteristics that are useful in ink-jet printing. This includes thermal ink jet, piezoelectric ink jet, and continuous ink jet printing.
