The present disclosure relates to a vascular closure device adapted for use in closing a puncture in a blood vessel after e.g. a percutaneous interventional procedure. The disclosure also relates to a method for vascular closure using such a vascular closure device.

Vascular closure device

Device and method embodiments discussed herein are directed to mechanical closure of an access passage in a tissue layer adjacent to an access hole in a vessel such as an artery or vein of a patient. Some of these embodiments may also be applicable to direct closure of a vessel wall in some instances.

Tissue closure device

A hybrid modular endovascular graft wherein a main graft is sized to span at least a portion of a target vessel lesion in a large percentage of patients. Graft extensions may be secured to the main graft to extend the main graft and provide a sealing function for some applications.

Modular vascular graft for low profile percutaneous delivery

Vascular closure assembly embodiments may be used to provide hemostasis at vascular puncture sites or the like. Such vascular puncture or access sites may be created during a variety of percutaneous or minimally invasive medical procedures.

Vascular closure devices and methods

Thin PTFE layers are described having little or no node and fibril microstructure and methods of manufacturing PTFE layers are disclosed that allow for controllable permeability and porosity of the layers. In some embodiments, the PTFE layers may act as a barrier layer in an endovascular graft or other medical device.

PTFE layers and methods of manufacturing

Single, continuous PTFE layers having lateral zones of varied characteristics are described. Some of the lateral zone embodiments may include PTFE material having little or no nodal and fibril microstructure. Methods of manufacturing PTFE layers allow for controllable permeability and porosity of the layers, in addition to other characteristics. The characteristics may vary from one lateral zone of a PTFE layer to a second lateral zone of a PTFE layer. In some embodiments, the PTFE layers may act as a barrier layer in an endovascular graft or other medical device.
