An object-picking tool for picking objects from a distance includes an elongated arm and a gripping device. The elongated arm includes a distal arm and a proximal arm. Further the gripping device is provided at a distal end of the distal arm. The object-picking tool also includes a handle present on a proximal end of the proximal arm. Further, a controlling device is present on handle for controlling the gripping device. The object-picking tool further includes a folding and locking device having a button. The button, when pushed inside locks the distal arm and the proximal arm. The button when pushed back again or release unlock the distal arm and the proximal arm for folding.

A motor assembly includes a structural unit for mounting a motor, for mounting and enclosing electronic circuitry, and for providing a corridor for air to flow and cool the motor and/or the electronic circuitry. The motor assembly includes a substantially water-resistant motor that rotationally drives a fan for cooling the motor and/or rotationally drives a propeller for providing propulsion to watercraft. The electronic circuitry of the motor assembly receives and transmits instructions to a command post by way of electronic signals and distributes power to the motor. The structural unit seals the circuitry from the surrounding environment.

Motor assembly with integrated cooling means and enclosed compartment for electronic circuitry

A self-luminous base lamp material for use in construction of a flat flexible fluorescent lamp is disclosed. A layer of fluorescent particles is carried between a rear electrode and front conductor electrode arranged in a parallel plate or split-electrode operative configuration. The fluorescent particles emit light upon excitation by an ultraviolet light source carried between the electrodes in response to energy applied to the electrodes. Inert gas carried in a glass microsphere functions as the ultraviolet source in one embodiment.

Flat, flexible fluorescent lamp

A path way marking and lighting system utilizes continuous electroluminescent strips of indeterminate length to provide an uninterrupted illuminated path to a target destination such as an egress exit. Powering means responsive to an activation stimulus means are provided to illuminate the electroluminescent strip. Means are provided for self diagnostic testing to carry out one or more sub-system tests to detect system operation within predetermined operating parameters and means provide an alerting indicator in response to a sub-system test detecting a system operation failure.

Path marking and lighting system

A distributed emergency building lighting system senses the presence or absence of AC power at the input of a switch controlling lighting in a designated area or an input stimulus such as an alarm to provide low-level marking for visual delineation of the path of egress or lighting of a predetermined designated area by illuminating an EL panel in accordance with code requirements. Self-diagnostic testing verifies operational conditions of the battery and illumination circuit to ensure code compliance.

Distributed emergency lighting system having self-testing and diagnostic capabilities

A power supply is provided for illuminating an electro-luminescent lamp with a constant current and frequency drive signal having a predetermined limiting voltage level for compensating changes in the electro-luminescent lamp characteristics. The power supply operates from an AC or DC input voltage power source and includes an electronic ground fault current interrupter circuit means with remote reset capability to provide protection for the power supply and against user injury. An auto line AC voltage selection circuit senses and selects the proper voltage operating configuration without operator intervention. The status of an LED in conjunction with the status of the electro-luminescent lamp is used as an internal diagnostic aid to assist a user in isolating fault conditions. External signals from a lighting control panel are coupled via an input control circuit to the power supply to provide special lighting effects.

Power supply for illuminating an electro-luminescent panel

A power supply or inverter circuit is provided for regulating power to electroluminescent lamps over a range of lamp sizes. The power supply may have an AC and/or DC input and includes at least one switch having a power input to be coupled to an electrical power source, a control input, and an output to be coupled to an electroluminescent lamp for being switched on and off to generate a drive signal to the lamp having a predetermined constant frequency and current level that is selectable over a range of frequency and current levels. A constant current mode controller has a control output coupled to the control input of the switch for turning the switch on and off so as to maintain a constant current level and frequency of the drive signal to the electroluminescent lamp substantially over its operating life. The voltage applied to the lamp is allowed to increase to a predetermined voltage limiting value in order to provide compensation due to aging of the lamp.

Control circuit and method for illuminating an electroluminescent panel

The method essentially creates a lake, if one does not already exist, and uses this lake as a 'moving' treating pond for soils contaminated with toxic radicals or compounds containing higher valence state metals. Reducing agent compositions such as saccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides, FeS.sub.4, Na.sub.2 SO3, NaSO.sub.2, Na.sub.2 S, and Na.sub.2 S.sub.2 O.sub.5 are introduced into the lake. Contaminated soil from one side of the lake is dragged into the lake, the water of which contains the reducing agent compositions, then is tilled at the bottom of the lake to fully expose the soil to the reducing agent composition, and then is raked upwardly along an opposite side of the lake to form a shoreline of cleaned soil material. Contaminant-consuming micro-organisms and plant life may also be introduced into the lake. The earthmoving process is repeated until lake has passed through and treated all of the contaminated soil site. The method performs all decontamination on-site and avoids the requirement for any backfilling of the site after decontamination of the site. The method is particularly useful in contaminated areas having high water tables.

Correction method for contaminated sites

The method essentially creates a lake, if one does not already exist, and uses this lake as a 'moving' biological treating pond for contaminated soil sites. Contaminated soil from one side of the lake is dragged into the lake, the water of which is infested with contaminant-consuming micro-organisms, then is tilled at the bottom of the lake to fully expose the soil to biological treatment, and then is raked upwardly along an opposite side of the lake to form a shoreline of cleaned soil material. The earthmoving process is repeated until the lake has passed through the treated all of the contaminated soil site. The method performs all decontamination on-site and avoids the requirement for any backfilling of the side after decontamination of the site.

An equal diameter cam is mounted on the output shaft of an internal combustion engine or drive shaft of a piston-type compressor. A piston is joined by a connecting rod to a frame carrying two equal diameter follower rollers engaging the surface of a cam and located at diametrically-opposite points on a line through the center of rotation of the cam. A control arm can be used to control the position of a follower roller. The rotational axis of each follower roller is spaced by the cam surface from the rotational axis of the drive output shaft to transmit torque by converting reciprocating motion impressed by the follower rollers on the cam surface according to the equation:

The present invention discloses a stator assembly for a dual three phase inverter-driven motor. The stator assembly includes: a radially disposed matrix of phase belts each having several pole groups, such phase belts being disposed at fixed radii from the axis of the rotor of the motor, each of the pole groups therein comprising twelve stator slots; a first plurality of three phase motor windings, each of such windings having a span length of either stator slots within its respective pole group, each pole group winding of said first plurality of motor windings having two coils per pole group, the first of such coils of each pole group being wound upon the i and i+8 stator slots, and the second coil of each pole group being wound upon the i+1 and i+9 stator slots; and a second plurality of three phase motor windings, each of such windings having a span length of eight stator slots, each pole group winding of said second plurality of motor windings having two coils per pole group, the first coil of each pole group being would upon the i+2 and i+10 stator slots, and the second coil of each pole group being wound upon the i+3 and i+11 stator slots, said two pluralities of motor windings thereby being symmetrically disposed about opposite ends of each phase belt pole group so as to leave the central four slots of each phase belt pole group free of any windings.

The present invention relates to an electrical circuit for current regulation in DC motors including a sensitivity control means therefor. The circuit includes a means for sensing a predetermined current level in the load of a DC motor. In combination therewith is a subcircuit for cutting-off the load current when the predetermined current level has been reached. Additionally, there is provided means for restoring the load current when, after load current cutoff, the inductive motor current has fallen to a level sufficient to restart the subcircuit.

There is disclosed herein a method and an apparatus for converting organic materials into a high quality fuel product. The process involves introducing the organic materials into a stream heated to a temperature of about 1600.degree. - 2000.degree. F and comprised of a carrier gas and a hard, particulate material. The organic material is rapidly converted into a fuel product which is then separated from the stream. The process can be used to form either a liquid or gaseous fuel product.
