A hybrid method of low light image enhancement in an electronic device comprises downsampling a high resolution, low light image to obtain a low resolution, low light image and inputting the low resolution, low light image into a low light enhancement model of a deep neural network to obtain a low resolution, enhanced image where semantic information such as true colors, edges, and brightness level are recovered. The high resolution, low light image, the low resolution, low light image, and the low resolution, enhanced image are each input into a mathematical model that performs upsampling and super-resolution tasks to generate a high resolution, enhanced image.

Electronic devices and corresponding hybrid methods of low light image enhancement

The one or more sensors detect deformation of the deformable electronic device. The method includes measuring at least one orientation input from at least one orientation module of a wearable device. The method further includes configuring at least one output device of the wearable device for operation in the current orientation at the body location.

The method includes, during playback of first media content, receiving first data indicative of whether a consumer of the first media content is actively consuming the first media content. The method further includes evaluating, based on a comparison of the first data with comparative data, whether the first data indicates that the consumer is likely not currently paying attention to playback of the first media content. The method further includes identifying, based on a time of receipt of the first data that indicates that the consumer is not paying attention, a first time within the first media content at which the consumer stopped paying attention during the playback and resetting a playback location of the first media content to continue playback from the first time.

A method includes detecting touch input received by a first touch sensor that detects touch on a surface of an electronic device (ED), that has a connection interface enabling coupling with a second ED having a second touch sensor. The method includes, in response to detecting the touch input, determining a state of the connection interface as being a connected or disconnected state relative to the second ED. The method includes in response to determining the state is the connected state: determining whether the touch input is associated with a multi-device (MD) gesture. The method includes, in response to determining the touch input is not associated with a MD gesture, executing an independent local-only function associated with the touch input. An apparatus includes a processor and a memory that stores code executable by the processor. The code is executable by the processor to receive sensor data from one or more sensors operably connected to a head mounted display ('HMD') unit while a user wears the HMD unit. The code is executable by the processor to determine a user's cognition level based on the sensor data. The code is executable by the processor to adjust one or more display settings of the HMD unit based on the determined cognition level for the user.

Apparatuses, methods, systems, and program products are disclosed for adjusting display settings of a head-mounted display. An apparatus includes a processor and a memory that stores code executable by the processor. The code is executable by the processor to receive sensor data from one or more sensors operably connected to a head mounted display ('HMD') unit while a user wears the HMD unit. The code is executable by the processor to determine a visual acuity of the user based on the sensor data. The code is executable by the processor to adjust one or more display settings of the HMD unit based on the determined visual acuity for the user. The one or more display settings may be adjusted to correct for impairments in the user's visual acuity.

A communication device, method, and computer program product provide higher confidence in person detection by augmenting sensing with carbon dioxide sensing and contextual information. The communication device determines a current carbon dioxide level in a space in which the communication device is located. A processor of the communication device compares the current carbon dioxide level to a carbon dioxide baseline threshold that is indicative of presence of a person in the space. In response to determining that the current carbon dioxide level is greater than the carbon dioxide baseline threshold, the processor further determines whether at least one target is sensed within the space. In response to determining that at least one target is sensed in the space, the processor infers the presence of a person in the space and sets a control mode of the communication device that correlates to the presence of the person.

In aspects of navigation tracking in an always aware location environment with mobile localization nodes, a positioning system includes a server computing device that can locate wireless communication devices in an always aware location (AAL) environment. A mobile localization node located within the AAL environment implements a positioning module to receive, from the server computing device, one or two initial coordinates of the mobile localization node at a current location in the AAL environment. The positioning module can determine one or more additional coordinates of the mobile localization node at the current location in the AAL environment, and designate the current location as an origin of the mobile localization node based on a combination of the initial and additional coordinates. The positioning module can then self-track navigation of the mobile localization node within the AAL environment as the mobile localization node moves from the origin to subsequent locations.

In aspects of gesture profiles and location correlation, a mobile device includes a wireless radio system to scan for location data from wireless-enabled devices within communication range of the mobile device. The mobile device implements a profile module to initiate the scan for the location data responsive to motion of the mobile device, and can determine from the location data, location coordinates corresponding to locations of the mobile device before and after the scan. The profile module can determine gesture profiles of gestures corresponding to a location of the mobile device, identify the gestures that occur at the location of the mobile device based on the determined gesture profiles, and correlate the identified gestures of the gesture profiles with the location of the mobile device.
