A method of operating an auto-monitoring circuit of a circuit interrupting device. The method including monitoring one or more signals to determine an operating state of said circuit interrupting device; outputting a first signal having a first voltage level based on the operating state, wherein the first voltage level is greater than zero volts; and outputting, after outputting the first signal, a second signal having a second voltage level based on the operating state, wherein the second voltage level is greater than the first voltage level.

A circuit interrupting device including one or more line terminals for connecting to an external power supply, one or more load terminals for connecting to an external load, one or more contacts electrically connecting one or more line terminals to one or more load terminals, and an auto-monitoring circuit. The auto-monitoring circuit configured to monitor one or more signals to determine an operating state of said circuit interrupting device, output a first signal having a first voltage level based on the operating state, wherein the first voltage level is greater than zero volts, and output a second signal having a second voltage level based on the operating state, wherein the second voltage level is greater than the first voltage level.

A circuit interrupting device including one or more line terminals for connecting to an external power supply, one or more load terminals for connecting to an external load, one or more contacts electrically connecting one or more line terminals to one or more load terminals; and an auto-monitoring circuit. The auto-monitoring circuit continuously monitoring one or more signals to determine an operating state of said circuit interrupting device. Wherein if said auto-monitoring circuit determines that said circuit interrupting device has reached its end-of-life and it is determined that the contacts have not failed, then a signal is driven to a first level to actuate a switch and open the contacts. Wherein said signal is further driven to a second level to inhibit said circuit interrupting device from resetting when it is determined that contacts of said interrupting device have failed. Wherein the second level has a voltage greater than zero volts.

The electronic processor analyzes a present operation of the external load and discontinues power to the external load when a present operation of the external load differs from the operational profile.

When the auto-monitoring circuit determines that the circuit interrupting device has reached its end-of-life, and it is determined that contacts of said interrupting device have not failed, then a signal is driven to a first level to actuate a switch and open the contacts. Additionally, said signal may further be driven to a second level to inhibit said circuit interrupting device from resetting when it is determined that contacts of said interrupting device have failed.

A floor box assembly includes a floor box and at least one retainer coupled to the floor box. The floor box includes an outer wall extending along a longitudinal axis, and the outer wall includes a first end and a second end. The first end is configured to be coupled to an electrical receptacle. The floor box is configured to receive at least one cable in electrical communication with the receptacle. The retainer permits the floor box to be inserted in a first direction along the longitudinal axis and secures the floor box against movement in a second direction opposite the first direction.

A floor box assembly includes a floor box and at least one retainer coupled to the floor box. The floor box includes an outer wall extending along a longitudinal axis, and the outer wall includes a first end and a second end. The first end is configured to be coupled to an electrical receptacle. The floor box is configured to receive at least one cable in electrical communication with the receptacle. The at least one retainer permits the floor box to be inserted into a hole in a first direction along the longitudinal axis and secures the floor box against movement in a second direction opposite the first direction.

A self-testing fault detector having a line side and a load side and a conductive path there between is provided. The self-testing fault detector includes an auto-monitoring circuit electrically coupled to a fault detection circuit and an interrupting device and it continuously monitors one or more signals to determine an operating state of the fault detector. At least one of the monitored signals includes a fault detection signal, wherein if said automonitoring circuit determines that the fault detection circuit is not properly driving the interrupting device, the automonitoring device converts an input-output port receiving the fault detection signal from an input to an output and drives the interrupting device into a tripped condition using the input-output port.

A fault interrupter apparatus having a line side and a load side and a conductive path there between. The apparatus includes a solenoid that is adapted to move a plurality of contacts disposed in the conductive path from a first position to a second position, an alarm indicator that is adapted to provide status information on the operation of the fault interrupter apparatus, and a processor that is adapted to detect four condition states of the fault interrupter and indicate the four condition states of the fault interrupter using the alarm indicator.

An end cap for engaging a raceway having an end wall portion and a gripping wall portion extending from the inner surface of the end wall portion at a first end of said gripping wall portion. A plurality of barbs extend from opposing surfaces of the gripping wall portion which engage the inner channel surface of the raceway to form a friction fit therewith. In a second embodiment, the plurality of barbs are progressively wider from the distal end of the gripping wall portion to its first end, allowing the end cap to be employed with various sized raceways.

A raceway fitting, including a first housing portion having a bottom surface, a first wall and a second wall, and a first coupling member adjacent said first wall. The first coupling member has a tapered surface with first and second ends, the tapered surface extending from an obtuse angle from the first wall. The adapter assembly further has a second housing portion with a first side portion and a second side portion. A second coupling member is located on the first side portion, the second coupling member having a first edge and a second edge. When coupling the first housing portion to the second housing portion, the first edge of the second coupling member engages the tapered surface of the first coupling member, adjacent the first edge and traverses the tapered surface in the direction of the second end, to facilitate the coupling thereof. This allows the two housing portions to be easily assembled and also allows the assembly to withstand an impact to the housing without the housing portions uncoupling.
