The invention provides a method for creating a curvilinear void created in a bony structure. The method includes inserting a distal end of a reamer device through a cannula and into a curvilinear void created in a bony structure, the reamer device having a flexible reamer shaft assembly which includes (i) a pivotable reaming element at a distal end thereof, and (ii) a mechanism for pivoting adjustably the reaming element. The method also includes deploying the reaming element within the curvilinear void and manipulating the reaming element to enlarge the curvilinear void.

Devices and methods for vertebrostenting

The invention relates to a method of creating a curvilinear cavity within a vertebral body or other body structure. The invention also relates to devices that may be used to perform the steps to create the curvilinear cavity. One such device is a curved drill including a lever and cam sub assembly. The curved drill can include a spring assembly that controls the curvature of the drill. The lever and cam sub assembly can be provided to allow tension to be reduced in the spring assembly.

The invention relates to a method of creating a curvilinear cavity within a vertebral body or other body structure. The invention also relates to devices that may be used to perform the steps to create the curvilinear cavity. One such device is a curved drill including a spring assembly that controls the curvature of the drill. The spring assembly can cooperate with a feed screw to assist in curving the drill. The curved drill can be provided through a cannula.

A surgical clip applicator includes a handle configured to produce translational movement; a cartridge containing a plurality of clips arranged in a row, the cartridge including a jaw assembly for receiving and closing a clip; a jaw closing mechanism for closing the jaw assembly; a clip feed mechanism for serially feeding a lead clip from the row to the jaw assembly; a clip advance mechanism for advancing the row as the lead clip is fed to the jaws; and a rocker mechanism for translating translational movement from the handle opposite translational movement of the haw closing mechanism in one direction and the clip feed mechanism and clip advance mechanism in an opposite direction.

The invention relates to methods of creating and/or enlarging a curvilinear cavity within a vertebral body or other body structure. The invention also relates to devices that may be used to perform the steps to create and/or enlarge the curvilinear cavity. In various embodiments, an apparatus for creating and/or enlarging a curvilinear cavity includes a handle and a flexible shaft assembly including a cutting tip or blade, a flexible rotatable drive shaft, and a flexible, moveable and non-rotatable housing.

A rod cutter apparatus includes a rod holding plate having a rod opening for receiving a rod to be cut; a cutting member having a central opening defined by a cutting edge, the central opening being substantially aligned with the rod opening; and a drive assembly connected between the rod holding plate and the cutting member to cause oscillation of the cutting member relative to the rod holding plate, wherein oscillation of the cutting member relative to the rod holding plate cuts a rod in the rod opening.
