Collision avoidance is an important issue for unmanned autonomous vehicles (UAVs). As such, UAVs can be outfitted with a simple and inexpensive sensor for use in collision avoidance. The sensor can be attached to a gimbal and can include a RADAR transmit antenna, a RADAR receive antenna, and an optical camera. The RADAR transmit antenna and RADAR receive antenna are part of a RADAR system. The optical camera and the RADAR system are bore sighted to one another by aligning their fields of view. The optical camera captures an image of a target when the RADAR system indicates the target is in the field of view. The RADAR system and image data can be used to determine a target trajectory. The target trajectory can be used to avoid a collision with the target.

A horticultural substrate conditioner includes a housing having an opening to receive a growing medium and an outlet to discharge the growing medium, a shaft arranged within the housing, the shaft rotatable relative to the housing, and a plurality of tines disposed on the shaft spaced apart from each other, the tines comprising a flexible material, wherein upon entry of a growing medium into the housing, the tines are capable of engaging the growing medium such that as the shaft rotates, the growing medium is broken apart and/or reduced in density and size to enable optimal distribution of the growing medium into a container upon discharge from the housing.

A handle can be connected to the distal portion of the housing and can extend outward therefrom. The impactor tool can include a grip that is pivotably connected to the proximal portion of the body near the handle. The impactor tool can include an impactor wire configured to impact bone, and a guide tube connected to the distal portion of the housing that is configured to retain the impactor wire.

A resistance mechanism may be configured to resist rotation of the first and second wheels independently from each other.

The casing segmentation device includes a body and a fracture mechanism. The body has a forward end, an aft end, a plug seat, and an internal passage. The plug seat is configured to receive a mating plug. The internal passage extends between the forward end and the aft end and through the plug seat. The fracture mechanism includes an amount of energetic material and a trigger mechanism. The trigger mechanism is configured to selectively cause a detonation of the amount of energetic material.

Destructible casing segmentation device and method for use

A horticultural container filling apparatus has a hopper to selectively dispense soil through an exit. A two-tier strip conveyor assembly has a plurality of narrow conveyor belts coupled to a motor for translating the narrow conveyor belts in a first direction along a first plane below the exit of the hopper. The narrow conveyor belts spaced apart, defining one or more gaps. A plurality of support rails support and guide the narrow conveyor belts along the first plane and are configured to support and convey a container on the narrow conveyor belts in the first direction. The container receives a portion of the soil dispensed from the exit of the hopper, and the gaps pass a remaining portion of soil not received by the container to a second plane below the first plane. A catch conveyor belt along the second plane receives and translates the remaining portion of soil in a second direction along the second plane. A return conveyor assembly has one or more inclined conveyor belts for receiving the remaining portion of the soil from the catch conveyor belt returns the remaining portion to the hopper. The inclined conveyor belts are substantially flat belts, and an incline angle of the inclined conveyor belts is configured to generally prevent slippage of the remaining portion of the potting material.

The sputter-deposition system includes a plurality of target cathodes, each of which comprises a target material having a different composition, that are powered by a single DC power supply. The plurality of target cathodes are cosputtered to deposit a layer composed of a mixture of materials on a substrate. The composite refractive index of the layer is controlled by adjusting an operating parameter of the plurality of target cathodes. Suitable operating parameters include cathode power, cathode voltage, cathode current, an angle between a cathode support and the substrate, and a flow rate of a reactive gas.

A multi-touch plug-in system is described herein that exposes multi-touch data for web application developers to consume in a platform independent way. The multi-touch plug-in system receives platform-specific touch data from an operating system or touch hardware, interprets the platform-specific touch data to convert the platform-specific touch data to generic touch data, and provides the generic touch data to a hosted application running within a plug-in sandbox. Often, sandboxed environments only allow identified, trusted plug-ins to execute. By managing multi-touch data within a trusted plug-in, the plug-in can ensure that hosted applications are properly restricted to well-defined behavior, while still allowing rich features such as multi-touch interaction. Thus, the multi-touch plug-in system brings rich multi-touch interaction to a web browsing environment.
