Systems and methods are disclosed for processing of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) image data, in connection with radiotherapy planning and treatments. Example operations for a radiotherapy workflow include: obtaining a plurality of newly captured CBCT projections that provide imaging of an anatomical area corresponding to an area for radiotherapy treatment; reconstructing a quantitative CBCT image from the plurality of newly captured CBCT projections; identifying anatomical changes of the human patient based on comparing a representation of the anatomical area in the quantitative CBCT image with a representation of the anatomical area in a planning image; and modifying a treatment plan for a radiotherapy workflow based on the anatomical changes, with the treatment plan providing dose calculations for the anatomical area. Further operations for training and use of a regression model to correct CBCT projections and perform additional imaging and radiotherapy data processing operations are disclosed.

Techniques for adaptive radiotherapy based on CBCT projection correction and reconstruction

A method for time-resolved tomosynthesis imaging for a moving object includes moving an imaging device having an x-ray source and an x-ray detector around the moving object and recording raw image data for a temporal series of tomosynthesis images. The method also includes reconstructing the temporal series of tomosynthesis images from the raw image data. While the imaging device is being moved, a motion speed of the imaging device is matched to a speed, at which the moving object is moving.

Time-resolved tomosynthesis imaging

A method for functional visualization and localization of an arteriovenous malformation is proposed. A patient is scanned over a predetermined projection angle range during a contrast agent uptake time. The examination region is reconstructed using the projections over the entire projection angle range. The arteriovenous malformation is localized. The multiplicity of the projections is subdivided into at least three partial projection datasets each belonging to different consecutive time windows of the total duration of the scan. A time series having tomosynthesis image datasets is generated by the partial projection datasets. An arterial and/or venous assignment of the vessels flooded with contrast agent takes place based on the time series of tomosynthesis image datasets.
