A record cleaning/conditioning device for cleaning, conditioning and rendering the surface of a phonograph record substantially static-free is disclosed. The device comprises an elongated arm member having a cleaning surface disposed on one side thereof. The cleaning surface is adapted to engage and clean the surface of a record so as to remove dirt and other undesirable material therefrom. A reservoir is disposed on the arm member for supplying a cleaning/conditioning fluid to the cleaning surface. By use of the device of the present invention, phonograph records of varying sizes can be efficiently cleaned, conditioned and rendered substantially static-free.

Record cleaner/conditioner

Disclosed is a cleaning system for flexible disk equipment or the like. The system includes a cleaning disk made of an absorbent and porous fibrous material which has an area substantially saturated with a liquid cleaning solution. The cleaning disk is rotatably supported within a flat jacket. The jacket includes opposed openings on either side so as to expose a portion of the cleaning disk to enable the disk to come into contact with a magnetic head or heads and its associated pressure pad if one is used. At least one of the openings is enlarged to expose a relatively large portion of the surface of the cleaning disk, so as to facilitate complete saturation of an area of the cleaning disk with a liquid cleaning solution while leaving a portion of the cleaning disk dry. The jacket containing the disk is placed within a flexible disk system which rotates the saturated disk, thus causing the magnetic head(s) and the pressure pad to be cleaned in a non-abrasive fashion with a wet, dry, wet action.

This device combines a carbide steel blade, a guide scraper post, and a cleaning pad saturated with solution to clean and condition a magnetic tape cassette. The cleaning pad is a member of a disposable pad strip containing a plurality of individual cleaning pads such that a fresh cleaning pad may be used for each cleaning application. A rotary dispensing valve delivers a predetermined amount of cleaning solution to the individual pad at the commencement of each cleaning cycle. Operation of the cleaning machine is initiated by depressing a starting lever which indexes the pad strip and dispenses cleaning solution from the rotary valve to the cleaning pad, while moving the scraping blade and cleaning pad into a position to contact the tape. Pushing of a run button then starts the tape drive system.

A record cleaning device for cleaning, conditioning and rendering the surface of a phonograph record substantially static-free is disclosed. The device comprises an elongated arm member having a cleaning brush disposed on one side thereof. The cleaning brush is adapted to engage and clean the surface of a record so as to remove dirt and other undesirable material therefrom. A valve is disposed on the other side of the arm member for regulating the flow of a cleaning fluid through the arm member and to the cleaning brush. In this manner, cleaning, as well as conditioning of the phonograph record is achieved. Further, it has been found that the device applies the cleaning fluid in such a manner as to render the surface of the record substantially static-free. A rotatable member is also coupled to the arm member adjacent the valve such that the device can be selectively rotated about the record to be cleaned in an easy and efficient manner. By use of the device of the present invention, phonograph records of varying sizes can be efficiently cleaned, conditioned and rendered substantially static-free.

This invention relates to a machine for cleaning magnetic discs. The machine is specifically adapted for removing dirt, dust, oils and other undesirable contamination from magnetic disc surfaces and comprises a housing having means for receiving the magnetic disc. A cleaning assembly is disposed in the housing and includes at least one arm member having an associated cleaning pad and means for selectively moving the arm member and cleaning pad across the disc such that as the cleaning pad is moved, it engages the surface of the disc and removes the undesirable material therefrom.

A base guard for use with front loading magnetic disk memory cartridge packs, is made of one piece construction, e.g., injection moulded, and formed to allow for registered, interlocked and nested vertical stacking of the memory cartridge packs and to secure the access door of the memory cartridge packs so as to prevent entry of dust particles. The base guard is formed so as not to interfere with the handle-like recesses or handholds and to prevent damage to and misalignment of the hub structure of the disk pack.
