A device may receive Internet of Things (IoT) data generated by a plurality of different IoT devices, and may group the IoT data into groups of data packages at configured time intervals or in response to events. The device may generate data notifications for the groups of data packages, and may provide the data notifications to a blockchain node, associated with the device and included in a network of blockchain nodes associated with data consumer devices, to cause the data notifications to be securely provided to corresponding ones of the data consumer devices. The device may receive, from one of the data consumer devices, a request for a data package of the groups, and may authenticate the one of the data consumer devices. The device may provide the data package to the one of the data consumer devices when authenticated.

A user equipment may determine a latency requirement of the user equipment, and may determine a first set of latencies between the user equipment and a first multi-access edge computing (MEC) device. The user equipment may determine a second set of latencies between the user equipment and a second MEC device, and may calculate a first violation probability based on the latency requirement and the first set of latencies. The user equipment may calculate a second violation probability based on the latency requirement and the second set of latencies, and may identify the first MEC device or the second MEC device based on the first violation probability and the second violation probability. Illuminating thermostat

A distributed flow control system and method for GPRS networks to control and regulate data flow between multiple sources and a single destination within a GPRS network. The present system and method ensures the departing traffic from all of the sources conforms to the peak and average rate requirements that have been set forth by the BSS/PCU. A leaky bucket flow control mechanism is used at each respective one of the multiple sources for controlling flow of data from each respective source to the single destination. A maximum bucket size of a leaky bucket and a bucket leak rate are defined for each leaky bucket flow control mechanism. A multiplier (L) is estimated and determined for each respective source based on recent data arrival behaviors of the multiple sources. When a frame of the data is sent from the respective source to the single destination, a number of bytes equal to the size of the transmitted frame times the multiplier L is added to the leaky bucket.

Distributed flow control system and method for GPRS networks based on leaky buckets

A system and method for GPRS MAC procedures to support delay-sensitive, real-time traffic is presented. The system comprises a mobile station able to transmit packets to and receive packets from a base station, where the base station is coupled to a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network, and where the GPRS network is coupled to a data network. In an uplink dynamic scheme, the base station receives an empty packet from the mobile station. The base station releases a bandwidth allocated to the mobile station if an implementation dependent time expires and further allocates a reduced portion of the bandwidth to the mobile station if a number of the empty packets are received or if a control packet requesting additional bandwidth is received by the base station. In an uplink fixed scheme, the base station allocates a fixed number of radio resources to the mobile station. The base station releases the radio resources allocated to the mobile station, if the fixed number of radio resources are not utilized and further allocates a reduced bandwidth to the mobile station if a number of empty packets are received.

GPRS MAC procedures to support real-time services

A wireless communication system constructed according to the present invention assigns each serviced mobile unit to a serving mobile switching center to minimize mobility management overhead and to equalize loading among a plurality of mobile switching centers. The wireless communication system includes the plurality of mobile switching centers and a base station system which includes a plurality of base station controllers, each of which couples to a plurality of base stations. A plurality of mobile units served by the system are assigned to the mobile switching centers so that loading is equalized. In one particular construction of the wireless communication system, a dispatching switch couples the base station system to the plurality of mobile switching centers and performs the assignments of the mobile units. In an example of operation, upon attachment of a mobile unit, the dispatching switch determines loading of each of the mobile switching centers. Then, based upon the loading, the dispatching switch assigns the mobile unit to one of the mobile switching centers, the 'serving' mobile switching center. During subsequent calls, the dispatching switch establishes a transparent path between a base station controller servicing the call and the serving mobile switching center. Thus, once the serving mobile switching center is determined, operation is transparent to the serving base station controller and the serving mobile switching center. In another particular construction, each of the base station controllers couple to each of the mobile switching centers via a network. In such case, each of the base station controllers and each of the mobile switching centers includes additional equipment which performs at least a portion of the operations of the dispatching switch. The network may be dissimilar to a conventional data structure supported by the wireless communication system. In still another implementation, a signaling message router function routes signaling messages to the serving mobile switching center by using the mobile unit's temporary identification number (as assigned by the serving mobile switching center). The signaling message router function may be implemented in the network coupling the base station sub-system with the mobile switching center (in a message router), in the base station controller or in the mobile switching center.
