A spill-resistant water pipe, water pipe base, and water pipe assembly for filtering smoldering herbal materials. There is a fluid vessel having a bottom surface, a smoking bowl coupled to the fluid vessel, a neck with a mouthpiece coupled to the fluid vessel, and a base removably coupled to the bottom of the fluid vessel. The base has a rounded/convex bottom with a weight greater than a combined weight of the fluid, the fluid vessel, the smoking bowl, and the neck. There is also an annular bumper member (disc) circumscribing the base and extending laterally outward therefrom, with an exterior wall extending upwardly from a lateral edge of the annular bumper member and a container disposed thereon. There is a power module that powers one or more of: speakers, wireless signal transponders, scent dispensers, clocks, light emitters, light sensors, and position sensors.

There is an instrument pick, and its method of manufacture, having a body member including a pliable member disposed therein. The body member includes crushed magnetic elements disposed throughout the body member. The instrument pick includes a tip member disposed about an end of the body member. The tip member includes a hardened region. The instrument pick includes a plurality of selectably removable tip members having diverse acoustical properties.

Instrument pick and method of manufacture

There is an instrument pick configured to selectably couple to a metal surface of an instrument, according to one embodiment of the invention. The instrumental pick includes a base member having an interior cavity and a magnet disposed within the interior cavity of the base member. The base member of the instrumental pick also includes a plurality of apertures configured to dispose a portion of the magnet.

A multi-media vending machine is provided with a multi-media computer, a video monitor, audio speakers, controls and visual displays. A currency accepter, coin handler and magnetic stripe card reader are provided for accepting payment using paper currency, coin currency, a credit card or a debit card. Music compositions and other multi-media products are stored in the multi-media computer. Additionally, one or more multi-media players are provided for playing a variety of media such as CD, DVD and CD ROM, to allow presentation of music, full motion video or software such as games, entertainment, productivity or other software titles. A hardware docking port allows a user to connect a digital media player and select video, software or music tracks to be purchased and downloaded to the user's portable digital media player. A user control panel allows the user to sample tracks of the product selected, and to adjust the parameters of audio and video during sampling. A modem connects the multi-media computer to a public telephone network to enable the vending machine owner to remotely interrogate the vending machine to determine stock levels, daily activity journals, cash box contents, as well as to remotely upload or download multi-media products, including music, video and software.
