A method and system for visually guiding a vehicle to an approach corridor and subsequent landing, parking, or docking zone. As a vehicle approaches the designated landing, parking, or docking zone, the pilot is visually guided into the approach corridor by one or more pairs of guidance light units. Each guidance light unit has at least an affirmative color light segment and a negative color light segment. The affirmative color light segment indicates affirmative approach, landing, parking, or docking conditions and the negative color light segment indicates negative approach, landing, parking, or docking conditions. The colored light segments of the guidance light units are positioned and oriented such that the affirmative color light segment either corresponds with the approach corridor or provides visual guidance to assist the pilot in guiding the vehicle into the approach corridor by defining outwardly extending guidance corridors. In addition to defining an approach corridor or outwardly extending guidance corridors, the guidance light units may be used to provide landing, parking, or docking zone information or vehicle position or attitude information relative to the approach corridor or landing, parking, or docking zone.

A rechargeable flashlight for automotive use having a universal connector for drawing power from any type of cigarette lighter receptacle. The universal connector includes a ring-shaped portion which establishes a friction connection with the positive feed portions of the cigarette lighter receptacles, and a cylindrical portion for establishing a friction fit with the cylindrical inner housing of the receptacles to establish contact with the negative feed or ground. The rechargeable flashlight and the universal connector can be integral in a single body, the body housing a rechargeable battery, lens/lamp assembly and spare bulbs. A magnetic foot is hingedly attached to the flashlight body for permitting the flashlight to be mounted on any magnetically responsive material and providing a directable flashlight beam. Alternatively, the universal connector can be separate and provide current to any desired electrical appliance.

A hydraulic pump provides two different fluid pressure outputs from a single input. The pump includes a first double acting piston and cylinder having a pair of inlets on opposite sides of the first piston and a pair of outlets on the opposite sides of the first piston. A second double acting piston and cylinder are provided which cylinder has a pair of inlets on opposite sides of the second piston and a pair of outlets on opposite sides of the second piston. A common piston rod interconnects the pistons and means is provided for alternately supplying fluid to the first inlets of the first and second cylinders on one side of the pistons and then to the first inlets on the other side of the first and second pistons to cause the first and second pistons to reciprocate within the first and second cylinders, respectively. In this manner, the first piston discharges fluid through an outlet on the opposite side of the first piston from the inlet through which the fluid enters to provide high pressure pulsating fluid flow from the outlets of the first cylinder and the second piston discharges fluid through an outlet of the opposite side of the second piston from the inlet through which the fluid enters to provide low pressure pulsating fluid flow from the output of the second cylinder.

An aircraft is provided with a wing in the form of an annulus having an airfoil shape in radial section, the wing being concentrically mounted on a vertical axle shaft which in turn is rotatably carried by a mounting on the fuselage. Rotation of the wing drives air centrifugally across the upper and lower surfaces to energize the boundary layer, enhance laminar flow, and produce lift. Vanes may be mounted on the inner portion of the surface to increase the flow and thus produce greater life. The vanes may be attached to a stabilizer ring which is eccentrically adjustable by a controlling mechanism to vary the extension of the vanes into and out of the wing at various points in the cource of rotation and thus vary the degree of lift produced. The wing may also be provided within its inner perimeter with airfoil lifting blades which produce additional lift, and the blades may be swung by a stabilizer ring to positions producing a desired thrust in a desired direction as the wing rotates.
