A cartridge may include a fluid reservoir, a print head to eject fluid from the reservoir through nozzles and bubblers. The print head may include a fluid feed slot to supply fluid from the reservoir to the nozzles. The bubblers are opposite the fluid feed slot.

In an example, a printhead assembly includes a plurality of printheads and a printing fluid flow structure including an upper body part comprising a number of flow regulators to regulate the flow of printing fluid through the printing fluid flow structure; a lower body part comprising a number of printing fluid passages to carry the printing fluid to the plurality of printheads; and a manifold placed between the upper body and lower body to carry the printing fluid from the upper body part to the lower body part.

Multi-part printhead assembly

A bubbler may be provided between nozzles. The bubbler may be provided opposite a standpipe.

In one example, a multi-part body for a printhead assembly includes a first body part and a second body part joined to one another with no intervening body parts. Each body part includes one or more of a group of datum points used to position the printhead assembly in a printer.

Bubblers may be provided between nozzles. Such bubblers may have elongated cross-sections.

A manifold assembly for a fluid-ejection device having multiple-fluid type fluid-ejection printheads organized in a page-wide array includes a lower-most deck and an upper-most deck. The lower-most deck is to supply a first type of fluid and a second type of fluid to the fluid-ejection printheads. The first type of fluid and the second type of fluid are exterior-most fluids ejected by the fluid-ejection printheads in relation to a direction of media movement through the fluid-ejection device. The upper-most deck is to supply a third type of fluid and a fourth type of fluid to the fluid-ejection printheads. The third type of fluid and the fourth type of fluid are interior-most fluids ejected by the fluid-ejection printheads in relation to the direction of media movement through the fluid ejection device.

A method for assembly of structural systems comprising structural members with slots. Specific structural members are sequentially interconnected in rigid alignment. A first structural member is positioned with two upward facing slots. A second structural member having a downward slot and an upward slot is engaged with the first structural member by engaging the downward slot with one of the upward slots of the first structural member providing a stable structure. A third structural member having a downward slot and an upward slot is engaged with the second structural member by engaging the downward slot with the upward slot of the second structural member providing a stable structure. A fourth structural member having two downward slots is engaged with the third structural member and the first structural member by engaging the downward slots with the upward slots providing a finished structure.

An inkjet printing device printhead assembly includes a housing. The housing has a surface. A well is defined within the surface of the housing and is adapted to disposal of a printhead die therewithin. The surface of the housing has one or more grooves. The grooves have ends. Some of the ends are adjacent to the wall. The grooves externally expose the printhead die.

An adhesive joint with an ink trap is provided. The joint may be employed in a cartridge for an inkjet printer. The cartridge includes a headland region attached to a printhead assembly by an adhesive layer. The adhesive joint between the headland region and the printhead assembly include notches for retaining additional adhesive in order to reduce degradation of adhesive due to ink penetration. A method of assembling the printer cartridge to include an ink trap in the adhesive joint is also provided.

A fluid container, including a body having a base surface, a capillary fluid volume disposed over the base surface, and an outlet compartment having at least one outlet wall disposed within the body and extending from the base surface into the capillary fluid volume. The body also includes at least two fluidically segregated free fluid compartments, where each compartment includes at least one sidewall disposed within the body. The at least one sidewall includes a compression edge wherein at least a portion of the compression edge is flush with the at least one outlet wall edge.

Methods and systems for managing contaminants are described. One exemplary method ejects fluid from multiple ejection chambers of a printing device in a pattern designed primarily to create fluid flow to move a contaminant present in fluid contained in a fluid-feed channel configured to supply fluid to the multiple ejection chambers. Responsive to the ejection, the method moves fluid in the fluid-feed channel sufficiently to move a contaminant in a desired direction within the fluid-feed channel.

An inkjet consumable cartridge having an inkjet cartridge having nozzles. The inkjet consumable cartridge also has an inkjet cartridge holding device for holding the inkjet cartridge, a cap configured to interface with the inkjet cartridge, and a cap actuator that, when actuated, moves the cap from a position where the cap does not interface with the inkjet cartridge to a position where the cap interfaces with the inkjet cartridge sealingly covering the nozzles. Furthermore, the consumable cartridge is removable from a printer as a self-contained unit.

Disclosed is a novel multi-chamber ink-jet print cartridge (pen) that is formed of a main body member divided into three sections, a center section, and two side sections. Cover members are attached to this main body section to define three ink chambers. Each ink chamber contains a synthetic foam member that receives a respective one of three primary colored inks. The main body member is molded to be a single unitary part, so that the only ink-to-ink sealing interface between inks of different colors occurs at the interface between the main body member and the printhead. The main body member is formed to have a center ink pipe that extends upwardly into compressive contact with the foam member in the center chamber, and two side ink pipes that extend outwardly in a direction orthogonal to the center ink pipe into compressive contact with the foam held in the side ink chambers. The disclosed multi-chamber pen thus allows for a narrow pen body with a small printhead, yet also provides for a large volume of ink in each of the three ink chambers, without the need for a separate manifold member and the disadvantageous introduction of additional ink-to-ink interfaces.

An ink-jet pen is disclosed that has a body of resilient felted polyurethane foam mounted in an ink chamber for ink retention and backpressure. A rectangular ink pipe extends from a bottom wall of the ink chamber between the walls of the ink chamber. A wire mesh filter is mounted to the ink pipe. The ink pipe and mesh filter extend into compressive contact with the foam to locally increase the capillarity of the foam. Any air that comes out of solution collects as a bubble in the rectangular ink pipe. This bubble does not block ink flow to the printhead, however, because the corners of the rectangular ink pipe provide a fluid capillary path. The bubble tends to form in a spheroid shape and does not extend into the corners of the ink pipe. In addition, rectangular filters are used, which reduces waste and expense compared to circular filters.

Disclosed is a novel inkjet print cartridge (pen) in which a body of polyurethane foam is inserted into an ink chamber of the pen for ink containment and backpressure. The ink chamber has a tall narrow aspect ratio. The body of polyurethane foam is felted in the width direction of the pen to have a width less than 20% of its pre-felted width. After felting, the body of foam is cut to have a 'near net size' as the interior volume of the ink chamber. Specifically, the pre-insertion volume is less than about 130% of the interior volume of the ink chamber. The substantial felting in the width direction provides sufficient stiffness to the foam that it can be inserted into the tall, narrow aspect ratio ink chamber.
