A method may include causing a model, including a set of core model elements and a set of diagnostic model elements, to be executed. The set of diagnostic model elements may be associated with a conditional trigger-point. The conditional trigger-point may be associated with a condition of the model for triggering the conditional trigger-point. The method may include determining that the condition of the model has been satisfied. The method may include causing the set of diagnostic model elements to be displayed via a user interface based on determining that the condition of the model has been satisfied. The set of diagnostic model elements may not have been displayed, during execution of the model, prior to determining that the condition of the model has been satisfied.

Tentative model components

A device analyzes program code to generate an intermediate version of the program code. When analyzing the program code, the device applies first rules for mapping portions of the program code to different portions of the intermediate version of the program code. The device generates the intermediate version of the program code that the different portions of the intermediate version of the program code mapped from the portions of the program code. The device applies, to the intermediate version of the program code, second rules for determining first portions of the intermediate version of the program code to keep together and second portions of the intermediate version of the program code to keep separate in a presentation to be generated from the program code, and generates the presentation from the program code based on applying the second rules to the intermediate version of the program code.

Automatic generation of a presentation from code based on analysis of an intermediate version of the code

A device may provide a user interface element for display in association with a displayed document that contains code. The user interface element may be associated with at least one adjustable state. The device may determine, based on a user interaction with the user interface element, a selected state of the at least one adjustable state of the user interface element. The device may generate information based on the selected state of the user interface element. The device may store the user interface element, the selected state of the user interface element, and the information in association with the document.

Embedding user interface elements in documents containing code

A device may provide, via a code editor window of a user interface, program code that includes a reference. The reference may call a portion of program code. The portion of program code may be associated with a source of the portion of program code. The device may determine the portion of program code based on the reference. The device may provide the portion of program code, in-line with the program code, via the code editor window of the user interface. The device may receive a modification to the portion of program code via the code editor window of the user interface. The device may synchronize the modification to the portion of program code with the source of the portion of program code. The device may create a modified copy of the source of the portion of program code based on the synchronizing.

In-line function synchronization

A system may obtain an executable code segment of program code. The executable code segment may be associated with an emitter, and the program code, when executed, may be associated with a plurality of execution states. Each execution state, of the plurality of execution states, may correspond to a state of execution at a point in the execution of the program code that causes an event, of the plurality of events. The system may execute the executable code segment. The system may receive, from the emitter and based on executing the executable code segment, a program state corresponding to the particular execution state. The emitter may emit the information based on a particular event caused by executing the executable code segment. The system may collect the program state and information describing the particular event.

Collecting structured program code output

In an embodiment, information associated with logic is acquired. The logic may have a changed portion and an unchanged portion. The information may include information associated with an execution of the logic. A filter is applied to the acquired information to identify information associated with the changed portion of the logic. A report may be generated based on the identified information.

Analyzing information associated with logic

A device may receive an indication to evaluate a first portion of program code and a second portion of program code provided in a first section of a user interface. The device may evaluate the first portion of program code and the second portion of program code. The device may generate a first result corresponding to the first portion of program code and may generate a second result corresponding to the second portion of program code based on evaluating the first portion of program code and the second portion of program code. The device may provide the first result and the second result in a second section of the user interface. The second section may be separate from the first section. The device may provide a correspondence indicator that indicates a correspondence between the first result and the first portion of program code.

Program code interface for providing program code and corresponding results of evaluating the program code

A device receives a program code being created or edited, executes a first portion of the program code to generate a first result, and executes a second portion of the program code to generate a second result. The device stores the first result and the second result, and compares the first result and the second result to determine a difference between the first result and the second result. The device utilizes the difference to identify an error in the program code, and provides information, associated with the difference and the error, for display.

Continuous evaluation of program code and saving state information associated with program code

A device may determine to provide help information associated with a portion of program code included in a program and provided via a user interface of a programming environment. The device may obtain generic help information, associated with the portion of program code, based on determining to provide the help information. The device may determine a set of rules for modifying the generic help information using the portion of program code. The device may analyze the program, using the set of rules, to identify information, included in the program, to be included in modified help information. The device may modify the generic help information, to generate the modified help information, using the information identified based on analyzing the program. The device may provide the modified help information for display via the user interface.

Using program code to generate help information, and using help information to generate program code

Exemplary embodiments provide computer-implemented methods, computer-readable media, and systems for changing the identifier associated with an entity, such as a variable or function, in a portion of code. During editing, a reference may be maintained that identifies the location of each instance of the entity in the code. When the identifier associated with one instance of the entity is changed, the change in the identifier may be propagated throughout the code to change each instance of the identifier in the code. The identifier may be changed without interrupting the workflow of the user and without the need to change to a separate refactoring mode. In some embodiments, a syntactical analysis may be performed and some or all instances of the identifier may be changed based on one or more rules.

Renaming instances of an entity in a coding environment

A device may provide a user interface that includes a first section for displaying multiple portions of program code and a second section for displaying multiple results of evaluating the multiple portions of program code. The device may detect an evaluation trigger associated with an unevaluated portion of program code of the multiple portions of program code. The device may determine one or more portions of program code to be evaluated based on detecting the evaluation trigger. The one or more portions of program code may be less than the multiple portions of program code. The device may cause the one or more portions of program code to be evaluated to generate one or more corresponding results. The device may provide the one or more corresponding results for display via the second section of the user interface.

Determining when to evaluate program code and provide results in a live evaluation programming environment

A device may receive an indication to evaluate a portion of program code. The device may cause the portion of program code to be evaluated based on receiving the indication to evaluate the portion of program code. The device may determine an intermediate result used to generate an overall result of evaluating the portion of program code based on causing the portion of program code to be evaluated. The intermediate result may be determined by evaluating a sub-portion of program code included in the portion of program code. The device may receive information that identifies a granularity level for displaying the intermediate result. The granularity level may indicate whether the intermediate result is to be provided for display. The device may selectively provide the intermediate result for display based on the granularity level.

Providing intermediate results of evaluating program code that includes a compound statement

A device may receive information that identifies code included in a document provided via a programming environment. The code may include executable program code capable of being executed via the programming environment. The device may receive information that identifies non-code included in the document. The non-code may include information other than executable program code. The device may receive an indication to link a code portion, included in the code, and a non-code portion, included in the non-code, and may create a link between the code portion and the non-code portion based on receiving the indication. The device may provide, via a user interface, content included in the document. The content may include the code portion, the non-code portion, and other information included in the document. The device may provide, via the user interface, a link indicator that identifies the link between the code portion and the non-code portion.

Linking code and non-code in a programming environment

A device may receive an indication to perform a performance evaluation on program code. The device may partition the program code into multiple program code portions based on receiving the indication to perform the performance evaluation. The device may execute a first program code portion of the multiple program code portions. The device may determine that the first program code portion has finished executing, and may determine a performance characteristic associated with execution of the first program code portion based on determining that the first program code portion has finished executing. The device may execute a second program code portion, of the multiple program code portions, and may provide information that identifies the performance characteristic while the second program code portion is being executed.
