Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for dynamic voice search transitioning. Example methods may include receiving, by a computer system in communication with a display, a first incoming voice data indication, initiating a first user interface theme for presentation at a display, wherein the first user interface theme is a default user interface theme, and receiving first voice data. Example methods may include sending the first voice data to a remote server for processing, receiving an indication from the remote server to initiate a second user interface theme, and initiating the second user interface theme for presentation at the display.

Dynamic voice search transitioning

Techniques for presenting content by a voice-controlled device are described. In an example, the voice-controlled device is operatively coupled to a presentation device and supports dual mode functionalities. In a first mode, the voice-controlled device sends content for presentation at the presentation device. In a second mode, the voice-controlled device presents the content at a presentation interface of the voice-controlled device. Based on speech input from a user indicating an issue with a content presentation in the first mode, the voice-controlled device switches to the second mode and presents a message at the presentation interface indicating that subsequent content presentations would be presented at this interface. The voice-controlled device remains in the second mode until receiving additional speech input necessitating a switch to the first mode.

Voice-controlled device switching between modes based on speech input

This disclosure describes techniques for identifying a voice-enabled device from a group of voice-enabled devices to respond to a speech utterance of a user. A speech-processing system may receive an audio signal representing the speech utterance captured in an environment of a voice-enabled device, and identify another voice-enabled device located in the environment. The system may analyze the audio signal using a different natural-language-understanding model for each of the voice-enabled devices to identify an intent for each of the voice-enabled devices to respond to the speech utterance. The system may determine confidence scores that the intents are responsive to the speech utterance, and select the intent with the highest confidence score. The system may use the selected intent to generate a command for the corresponding voice-enabled device to respond to the user.

A computer-implemented method includes receiving, at a microphone of a voice-controlled device, a speech input, generating an electrical signal having a first gain level that is below a gain threshold for audible detection by a user, transmitting the electrical signal to the speaker and detecting, by the microphone, an audio signal that includes a combination of ambient noise and a probe audio signal, wherein the probe audio signal is output by the speaker based on the electrical signal. The method further includes determining a power level of the probe audio signal and determining a state of the display based on the power level of the probe audio signal.

Detection of TV state using sub-audible signal

A computer-implemented method includes receiving, at a microphone of a voice-controlled device, a speech input from a user and determining, by the voice-controlled device, that a power state of an AV display device that is coupled to the voice-controlled device is an ON or OFF state. Based on the user intent determined from the speech input and the power state of the AV display, the voice-controlled device sends data to the AV display device to switch the AV display device ON or OFF. The method can further include receiving, by the voice-controlled device, content from a content source location and sending the content to the AV display device via an AV port.
