An apparatus for aligning a fiber optic connector with a detector or an emitter in a housing includes a stationary base mountable on the housing, a mobile stage movable relative to the stationary base, and spring-loaded adjustment screws on the stationary base oriented orthogonally relative to one another to adjust a position of the mobile stage in x and y directions. The stationary base and mobile stage include central openings that allow the adjustment mechanism to be positioned around the fiber optic connector. The stationary base and mobile stage also include lateral slots extending inwardly from their respective peripheral edges to their respective central openings to allow passage of a fiber optic cable when positioning or removing the apparatus.

Fiber optic cable to emitter/detector alignment apparatus and method

A wedge for use in an electric machine has a central leg and arms extending in both circumferential directions. The wedge has a radially outer full surface defining a cylindrical aperture through an axial length, and ledge surfaces at each axial end of the full surface. A curved merging portion on an outer surface of the arms merges into a curved contact surface. A rotor, a machine and a method are also disclosed.

User-selectable volumes of a viscous condiment such as ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise are consistently dispensed from a pressurized vessel. The vessel is pressurized using a small air pump, a cylinder of compressed gas or an external gas source. Pressure in the vessel is kept constant by sensing the pressure using a MEMS pressure transducer. Condiment flows from the pressurized vessel into a flexible tube, which passes through an electrically-actuated pinch valve. For a given pressure in the vessel, the amount of condiment to be dispensed is determined by the time that the pinch valve is open. A processor monitors the pressure, actuation of a user interface and controls operation of the air pump.

Pressurized viscous condiment dispenser

A bearing seal assembly of a rotary machine includes and inner shaft and an outer shaft. The outer shaft is disposed concentrically around and radially outward from the inner shaft. The space between the inner and outer shafts forms an annulus void. The inner shaft includes an oil inlet port through which lubricating oil enters the annulus void. A grooved structure is located on an inner surface of the outer shaft, and the grooved structure is configured to retain oil upon shutdown of the rotary machine. A bearing is located outside of the outer shaft. An oil outlet port is disposed in the outer shaft and is connected to the grooved structure for supplying lubricating oil to the bearing.

Oil retention and delivery system for a bearing

A rectifier assembly and method are provided. The rectifier assembly includes an annular bus bar including an electrically conductive material, and an insulator ring receiving the annular bus bar. The insulator ring defines radially-extending resistor pockets and diode pockets therein. The rectifier assembly also includes resistors disposed in the resistor pockets and electrically connected with the annular bus bar, and diodes disposed in the diode pockets and electrically connected with the annular bus bar. The rectifier assembly also includes an outer housing receiving the annular bus bar and the insulator ring, such that the insulator ring is positioned radially between the annular bus bar and the outer housing.

Rotating rectifier assembly and method

A shaft for a bearing lubrication assembly includes an outer surface and a reservoir disposed within the shaft. A first seal groove is formed on the outer surface and extends a full circumference of the outer surface. A second seal groove is also formed on the outer surface and extends the full circumference of the outer surface. A radial port extends from the reservoir to the outer surface, the radial port intersecting the outer surface between the first seal groove and the second seal groove. A plurality of chambers are formed in the shaft and disposed axially between the first seal groove and the second seal groove. The plurality of chambers are open to the outer surface with each chamber having a closed bottom disposed radially inward from the outer surface. Each chamber is also circumferentially spaced from one another.

Chambered shaft for improved bearing lubrication

A rectifier assembly and method are provided. The rectifier assembly includes a cover comprising a flange having an annular channel extending around an outer circumference of the flange, an annular bus bar, an insulator ring, and an outer housing for receiving the insulator ring, the annular bus bar and the outer housing. A snap ring is positioned within the annular channel of the outer circumference of the flange, wherein an outer circumference of the snap ring is located within a snap ring retention channel located around an inner diameter of the outer housing to retain the cover, the annular bus bar, and the insulator ring within the outer housing.
