Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may generate an input signal including information for transmission over a wireless channel. The UE may perform a first waveform shaping stage on the input signal to increase an in-band emissions ratio and reduce a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the input signal. The UE may perform a second waveform shaping stage on the output of the first waveform shaping stage to reduce an adjacent channel leakage ratio of the output of the first waveform shaping stage. The UE may then transmit a signal over the wireless channel based on an output of the second waveform shaping stage.

Techniques for waveform compression

Disclosed are techniques for communication. In an aspect, a first UE determines information (e.g., from an external device, or via the first UE's own energy sensing) associated with scheduled uplink transmissions on a set of symbols by a second UE. The first UE performs measurements on at least some of the scheduled uplink transmissions during a first subset of the set of symbols where no DL signals are received by the first UE. The first UE receives at least one DL signal during a second subset of the set of symbols, and mitigates interference associated with the at least one DL signal based on the measurements.

Mitigation of interference at a first user equipment based on information of scheduled uplink transmissions by a second user equipment

Aspects are provided which allow a network entity to consider an identity property for received RS during analog combining or aggregation in order to achieve efficient channel sounding and estimation. The network entity may receive an RS in a time period via a plurality of antenna elements. The network entity may combine, in an analog domain, the RS received via each of the antenna elements based at least in part on weights associated with the antenna elements. At least one weight of the weights changes over the time period, and the weights are elements of a time domain orthogonal cover code or a DFT matrix. As a result of these weights, the network entity may estimate multiple combined or individual channels of antenna elements or groups from one or more RS in one or more symbols, potentially improving UE energy efficiency, efficient resource allocation, and coherency between the antenna elements.

Efficient channel sounding through analog aggregation

An apparatus is disclosed for frequency-based predistortion signal generation. In an example aspect, the apparatus includes a predistortion linearizer circuit configured to be coupled to an input of an amplifier. The amplifier has non-linearities associated with multiple frequencies. The multiple frequencies include a first subset of frequencies and a second subset of frequencies. The predistortion linearizer circuit is also configured to accept an input signal. The predistortion linearizer circuit is additionally configured to generate, based on the input signal, a compensation signal to attenuate the non-linearities existing within the first subset of frequencies more than the non-linearities existing within the second subset of frequencies. The predistortion linearizer circuit is further configured to generate a pre-distorted signal based on the input signal and the compensation signal.

Frequency-based predistortion signal generation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be capable of operating according to a first transmission efficiency operating mode and a second transmission efficiency operating mode that is less power efficient than the first transmission efficiency operating mode. The first transmission efficiency operating mode may be associated with a first undesired emission level that is greater than a second undesired emission level associated with the second transmission efficiency operating mode. The UE may select to operate in one of the two transmission efficiency operating modes based on one or more communication parameters (e.g., indicated by control signaling received from a base station). For example, the UE may select to operate in the first transmission efficiency operating mode based on determining that one or more of the communication parameters satisfies at least one parameter criterion for operating in the first transmission efficiency operating mode.

User equipment operation in a high efficiency transmission operating mode

Aspects are provided for generation and transmission of MDMRS which allow matching of nonlinear model impact or properties between DMRS and data in DFT-s-OFDM waveforms as well as CP-OFDM waveforms. A UE transmits, to a network entity, an MDMRS generated from a DMRS. The MDMRS has a PAPR distribution matching a PAPR distribution of a signal including data in an uplink channel. A target PAPR of the MDMRS is based on a modulation scheme of the data. The UE also transmits the data in the uplink channel, where the uplink channel includes a PUCCH or a PUSCH. As a result of the ability of MDMRS to match the nonlinear impact of DMRS and PUSCH or PUCCH, the network entity may compensate for any EVM that may occur as a result of PAPR reduction by a nonlinear operator of the UE, and communication performance may thereby be improved.

DMRS with dynamic and controllable PAPR properties

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may receive, from another wireless communication device, an indication of an averaging parameter associated with a transmitter nonlinear model. The wireless communication device may estimate the transmitter nonlinear model based at least in part on the indication of the averaging parameter associated with the transmitter nonlinear model. Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration of a first resource within a slot and a second resource within the slot. The UE may receive a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) based at least in part on the first resource, wherein the DMRS is associated with a first transmit power. The UE may receive an additional DMRS based at least in part on the second resource, wherein the additional DMRS is associated with a second transmit power different from the first transmit power. Demodulation reference signaling with varying transmit power

A user equipment (UE) may spatial time-division multiplex a plurality of sounding reference signal (SRS) ports, each of the plurality of SRS ports being associated with at least one of a set of orthogonal weights, the set of orthogonal weights corresponding to phase shifting, and transmit a plurality of SRSs via the plurality of spatially time-division multiplexed SRS ports simultaneously, each of the plurality of SRSs including at least two SRS repetition. The plurality of SRSs may be configured to form or present a quasi-co-location (QCL) receive (Rx) beam subspace. The UE may configure the plurality of SRSs to form the subspace as the QCL Rx beam subspace, and a base station may signal the UE to a specific Rx beam subspace such that it is aligned to the base station's beamforming direction, and achieve spatial multiplexing gain in the QCL Rx beam subspace.

Time-division multiplexing sounding reference signal ports

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration indicating one or more directions for applying directional digital pre-distortion (DPD) to mitigate interference in a direction to another UE. Directional digital pre-distortion for inter user equipment interference mitigation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may receive an uplink transmission from a user equipment (UE) over a wireless channel and measure a post-digital post-distortion (post-DPOD) signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the uplink transmission. The base station may generate a power output back-off indication for the UE according to the post-DPOD SNR and a change in a post-DPOD noise level of the transmission between a non-linear distortion noise component and a thermal noise component. The base station may transmit the power output back-off indication and a downlink transmission to the UE. In response, the base station may receive an uplink transmission from the UE over the wireless channel. The uplink transmission may be based on the power output back-off indication, a signal quality metric of the downlink transmission, or both.

Adaptation of power control based on non-linear interference analysis

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described to estimate interference for concurrent uplink and downlink communications based on an indication of one or more one or more characteristics of an interfering uplink signal communicated between a base station and a second user equipment (UE). The base station or the second UE may transmit, to a first UE, an indication of one or more characteristics of an uplink signal, such as a baseband of the uplink signal or one or more parameters of the uplink signal. The first UE may use the characteristic(s) of the uplink signal to estimate the baseband of the uplink signal and cancel interference associated with the uplink signal. For example, the first UE may use the baseband signal to estimate the interference and may subtract the estimated interference from a downlink signal received at the first UE.

Signal estimation for interference cancellation

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network entity may receive a sounding reference signal (SRS) at a multi-panel system of the network entity, where the multi-panel system includes one or more sounded panels and one or more non-sounded panels. The network entity may estimate a channel to obtain channel state information (CSI) for the one or more sounded panels based at least in part on the SRS. The network entity may estimate CSI for the one or more non-sounded panels based at least in part on the CSI for the one or more sounded panels. The network entity may transmit or receive a communication based at least in part on the CSI for the one or more sounded panels and the CSI for the one or more non-sounded panels. Estimation of channel state information for non-sounded panels or subpanels based on sounded panels or subpanels

Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently transmitting uplink signals to a base station using shared antennas associated with different power classes. A first device may be in communications with a base station using local antennas and may identify a second device having auxiliary antennas available for transmitting uplink signals to the base station. The local and auxiliary antennas may be associated with different power classes, and the first device may transmit a message to a base station indicating that the first device is capable of transmitting using antennas associated with different power classes. The first device may then receive configurations from a base station of different transmit powers to transmit on the antennas associated with the different power classes, and the first device may transmit uplink signals to the base station in accordance with the different transmit power configurations.

Power control for wireless device cooperative transmission schemes

During an uplink TDD slot, an UL UE transmits an UL signal that occupies a slot frequency range. Similarly, during a DL TDD slot, a DL UE receives a DL signal that occupies the slot frequency range. But during an SBFD slot, a UL UE transmits a UL signal that occupies only a first sub-band of the slot frequency range. Similarly, a DL UE receives a DL signal during an SBFD slot that occupies only a second sub-band of the slot frequency range. The second sub-band is distinct from the first sub-band. The DL UE may thus mitigate UE-to-UE interference during an SBFD slot by filtering the DL signal to substantially block the second sub-band from being received at the DL UE.
