A method is provided for optimizing wireless charging of a mobile device by a wireless charger. The method comprises successively reducing transmit power in the wireless charger until an operating wireless transmit power is reached when a power loss occurring during a wireless transmission of power is caused by magnetic saturation, wherein the magnetic saturation occurs in at least one of the mobile device and the wireless charger, wherein the wireless transmission of power is from the wireless charger to the mobile device, and wherein the magnetic saturation is reduced at the operating wireless transmit power, and disabling charging by the wireless charger when the power loss occurring during the wireless transmission of power is caused by a foreign object is present between the mobile device and the wireless charger.

Energy transfer optimization by detecting and mitigating magnetic saturation in wireless charging with foreign object detection

A method is provided for optimizing wireless charging of a mobile device by a wireless charger. The method comprises determining whether magnetic saturation occurred in at least one of the mobile device and the wireless charger during a first wireless transmission of power from the wireless charger to the mobile device; and, when magnetic saturation is determined to have occurred, successively reducing transmit power in the wireless charger until reaching an operating wireless transmit power, wherein neither the mobile device nor the wireless charger is in magnetic saturation at the operating wireless transmit power.

A wirelessly powered device and operating method to aid in locating the device in relation to an energy transmitter. A device positioning aid processor places at least one component into a high electrical current consumption mode and determines, based on placing the at least one component into a high electrical current consumption mode, an amount of electrical current induced in a receiving coil that is adapted to inductively couple to a transmission coil external to the wirelessly powered device. An indicator, which is communicatively coupled to the device positioning aid processor, is configured to provide, in response to a determination of the amount of electrical current, an indication corresponding to the amount of electrical current.

Systems and methods to detect particular levels of remaining battery capacities. A ratio of changes in battery output voltage over changes in battery capacity (&#x394;V/&#x394;C) is calculated. Detected rises in the value of this ratio are used to detect that a battery has a remaining capacity level that is near depletion. In a certain temperature range, the &#x394;V/&#x394;C ratio is used to provide an indication that the battery is approaching a low remaining capacity state. In another temperature range, an increase in the &#x394;V/&#x394;C ratio indicates that the battery has reached a mid-range remaining capacity level.

In response to detecting the dropped call, and the wireless device callback priority being higher than the second communication device callback priority, the wireless device calls back the second communication device. If, during the calling back, a match between a callback identifier and an incoming caller identifier of an incoming call is detected, the calling back is terminated, and the incoming call is answered.
