A goggle system is provided. The goggle system includes a computing device, a goggle device configured to be worn by a user and including a detector configured to simultaneously acquire image data of a subject in a first image mode and a second image mode, at least one eye assembly configured to display at least one of an image in the first image mode, an image in the second image mode, and a hybrid image including pixels of image data from the first image mode and pixels of image data from the second image mode, and a communications module configured to transmit acquired image data from the goggle device to the computing device.

Imaging systems and methods

A wearable device for high-density-diffuse optical tomography includes a plurality of source modules that include source housings containing a light source. The device also includes a plurality of detector modules that include detector housings, a photodiodes, transimpedance amplifiers operatively coupled to the photodiodes, and analog to digital converters operatively coupled to the transimpedance amplifier. Each detector housing contains at least one of the photodiode, the analog to digital converter, and the transimpedance amplifier. Each source and detector housing is configurable to contact a subject's scalp and deliver or receive light from the scalp at one position. The wearable device also includes a control circuit operatively coupled to the plurality of source modules and to the plurality of detector modules to operate the source and detector modules in a coordinated manner to acquire a plurality of diffuse optical tomography measurements.

Goggle imaging systems and methods

A system includes a wearable head apparatus and an electronic console. The head apparatus is configured to receive resultant light from the head of a subject. The electronic console includes a fiber array, a detector, and a computing device. The fiber array includes a plurality of fibers configured to transport resultant light received by the head apparatus. The detector includes a plurality of super-pixels each defined by a plurality of pixels of an array of pixels. Each super-pixel is associated with a fiber. Each super-pixel is configured to generate a plurality of detection signals in response to detected resultant light from its associated fiber. The computing device receives the detection signals from each of the plurality of super-pixels. The computing device generates a high density-diffuse optical tomography (HD-DOT) image signal of the brain activity of the subject based on the detection signals from the super-pixels.

A method for utilizing an optical system for mapping brain function includes determining a time series of light intensity measurements for spatially distributed source and detector pairs, receiving light measurements over a period of time, and producing at least one map of a respective strength of each of a plurality of temporal correlations, wherein the temporal correlations are based on the time series of the spatially distributed source and detector pairs and the light measurements.

Task-less optical mapping of dynamic brain function using resting state functional connectivity

A high performance imaging system for diffuse optical tomography is disclosed. A dense grid utilizing sources, e.g., light emitting diodes ('LEDs'), that achieve high performance at high speed with a high dynamic range and low inter-channel crosstalk are complemented by a system of discrete, isolated receivers, e.g., avalanche photodiodes ('APDs'). The source channels have dedicated reconfigurable encoding control signals, and the detector channels have reconfigurable decoding, allowing maximum flexibility and optimal mixtures of frequency and time encoding and decoding. Each detector channel is analyzed by dedicated, isolated, high-bandwidth receiver circuitry so that no channel gain switching is necessary. The resulting improvements to DOT system performance, e.g., increased dynamic range and decreased crosstalk, enable higher density imaging arrays and provide significantly enhanced DOT image quality. A processor can be utilized to provide sophisticated three dimensional modeling as well as noise reduction.
