A thermoplastic molding composition having a light transmission value of at least 40% is disclosed. The composition contains a thermoplastic polyurethane component, a styrene copolymer, and an alkyl(meth)acrylate component and is characterized by the compatibility of its components. The weight ratio between the styrene copolymer to the sum of the styrene copolymer and alkyl(meth)acrylate components was found to be critical to the light transmission of the inventive composition.

Transparent thermoplastic composition

A composition capable of providing low gloss in a part molded therefrom consisting essentially of 20 to 50% by weight of a graft copolymer of ethylenically unsaturated monomers grafted unto a rubber with a rubber content of 5 to 80% by weight based on the weight of Component A; 80 to 50% by weight of one or more thermoplastic, rubber-free copolymers containing: (i) 1 to 25% by weight based on the total weight of Component (B) of an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride monomer and (ii) 0.5 to 2% by weight based on the total weight of Component (B) of an ethylenically unsaturated copolymerized epoxide compound.

Low gloss molding composition

The adhesion between a metal plating and a polymeric substrate comprising an ABS blended with a strene/maleic anhydride polymer, is greatly increased by incorporating into the substrate a C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 ester of a C.sub.12 to C.sub.20 fatty acid.
