Golf clubs are disclosed having weighted tips and weighted hosels so as to achieve a predetermined weight distribution in both the horizontal and vertical direction. The distance between the hosel and tip weights is maximized as a result of their respective geometries relative to the center of gravity of the club head, and the stability of the club head is increased both about a horizontal axis and about a vertical axis through the center of gravity. In one version the tip weight is at least twice the weight at the hosel and in another version these weights are substantially indentical.

Weight distribution of the head of a golf club

A ski boot comprises a rigid shell base on which an upper is adapted to be journalled. The upper comprises a rear spoiler and a front cuff, and the lower edge of the cuff is adapted to cooperate with the upper surface of the shell base via a flexion element. The flexion element is mounted substantially transversely to the longitudinal axis of the boot, and is continuously in support with the lower edge of the cuff, or is formed integrally with the lower edge of the cuff. The support is provided substantially along the longitudinal axis of the boot, i.e., along a central portion of the lower edge of the cuff. The use of this type of flexion element makes it possible to ensure, for expert or skillful skiers, that the upper will flex perfectly about the axis of the boot.

The present invention relates to a golf ball. The peripheral surface (2) of the golf ball has dimples defining, by their intersection with this peripheral surface (2) intersection circles (55,57,59,61,62,63) which in their majority (55,57,59,61,62) are distributed essentially inside 24 identical elemental surfaces (50) in spherical isosceles right-angle triangle form defined by 6 equatorial circles (44 to 49) of the sphere defining the general shape of the peripheral surface (2) of the ball (3) each of the equatorial circles (44 to 49) being centered on an axis passing through the respective midpoints of two diametrically opposed edges of a cube inscribed in this sphere; a determined one (48) of these equatorial circles cutting none of the intersection circles subdividing each of the other equatorial circles (44,45,46,47,49) into two circular arcs (44a and 44b, 45a and 45b, 46a and 46b, 47a and 47b, 49a and 49b) which mutually cut in threes at points (7,11) of the peripheral surface (2), at least one (63) of the intersection circles being arranged around a respective one of the these points (7,11). The orientation of the ball with respect to the strike can thus be rendered substantially independent, while a strike on the said determined equatorial circle (48) is avoided.

The present invention relates to a golf ball. The peripheral surface (2) of the ball has dimples defining by their intersections with this peripheral surface (2) intersection circles (55,57,59,60,64,68,70) which, in their majority (55,57,59,60,64,68), are distributed essentially inside 24 identical elemental surfaces (40) in spherical isosceles right-angle triangle form, and 8 second identical elemental surfaces (45) in spherical equilateral triangle form, which elemental surfaces (40,45) are defined by 4 equatorial circles (36,37,39) of the sphere defining the general shape of the peripheral surface (2) of the ball (3), eahc of the equilateral triangle (36,37,39) being centered on an axis passing through two diametrically opposed apices of a cube inscribed in this sphere, and by 3 equatorial circles (29,30,31) of this sphere, which are centered on axes passing through the respective centers of two diametrically opposed surfaces of the cube; the determined one (29) of these equatorial circles nevertheless cuts none of the intersection circles and subdivides the other equatorial circles (30,31,36,37,39) into two circular arcs which mutually cut at points (49,50) of the peripheral surface (2 ); at least one of these intersection circles is disposed about a respective one of these points (49,50). The orientation of the ball with respect to the strike can thus be rendered substantially independent, while a strike on the said determined equatorial circle is avoided.

A manipulation element for closing and latching a rear spoiler of boot on the leg of a skier. The manipulation element is journaled on the rear spoiler so that journalling of this element tensions a cable which closes the spoiler on the leg of the skier. The manipulation element comprises a U-shaped lever having an open space therein adapted to receive a second manipulation element which can, for example, lock the heel of the foot in the boot. In this way, two manipulation elements can be positioned on the dorsal zone of the spoiler. In another embodiment, the manipulation element includes two lateral ribs, each having a groove extending along the length of the rib for engaging and protecting the cable.

A golf club comprises a golf club head including a plug member containing a threaded axial bore. An elongated golf club shaft, containing an axially extending bore, has a connector portion at one axial end, and a gripper portion at the other axial end. A threaded rod is retained on the connector portion of the shaft, and is threaded into the axial bore of the plug member of the head for operatively connecting the shaft to the head.

A ski boot including an upper journalled on a rigid shell base around a journal axis so that the upper can undergo forward flexion around the journal axis in response to forward flexion of the leg of the skier. Also provided is a flexion control device which elastically opposes forward flexion of the upper. The flexion control device is an elastic element positioned between the shell base and the upper and extends transversely to the longitudinal axis of the boot. One end of the elastic element is attached to the shell base at a linkage point spaced from the journal axis. Another portion of the elastic element is attached to the lower edge of the cuff at a support point by a retention element. These attachments are such that during forward flexion: the distance from the journal axis to the support is invariant, the distance from the journal axis to the linkage point is invariant, and the distance from the support point to the linkage point varies.
