Disclosed are some implementations of systems, apparatus, methods and computer program products for dynamically configuring a hardware device. A hardware configuration descriptor can be customized, where the hardware configuration descriptor includes a set of hardware interface attributes for use in configuring hardware interfaces of a hardware device and indicates one or more web addresses corresponding to computer-readable instructions configurable to control operation of the hardware device during runtime. The hardware configuration descriptor can be transmitted to the hardware device responsive to a request from the hardware device. The hardware device automatically applies the hardware configuration descriptor to configure its interfaces and subsequently accesses the web addresses during operation of the hardware device.

Dynamic hardware configuration

Techniques are disclosed relating to emphasizing user interface elements for different users based on user attributes. In some embodiments, a system maintains a set of information (e.g., for a particular product) that includes multiple types of information. The system may access the same set of information for different user requests. The computing system may determine first and second subsets of the set of information based on attributes of the different users. The computing system may cause display of a first user interface on a device of the first user, where the first user interface shows only the first subset of information with a first element displayed using a first format. The computing system may cause display of a second user interface on a device of the second user, where the second user interface shows only the second subset of information with the first element displayed using a second format.

Computer implemented methods and systems are provided for generating podcast files. In one embodiment, a method includes storing, in a template database, a podcast template, wherein the podcast template includes a sentence definition including one or more data tags and a sentence order for a plurality of sentences; storing, in a user database, user information for a plurality of users; generating, by a processor, a podcast text file by selectively populating the podcast template with user information associated with a first user of the plurality of users based on the data tags; converting, by the processor, the podcast text file to a podcast audio file; and storing, by the processor, the podcast text file and the podcast audio file in a podcast database for podcast playback by the first user.

In various implementations, a computing device is configured to provide a live preview of salient contours generated on a live digital video feed. In particular, a designer can use a computing device with a camera, such as a smart phone, to view a real-time preview of salient contours generated from edges detected in frames of a live digital video feed prior to capture, thereby eliminating the unpredictability of salient contours generated from a previously captured image. In some implementations, the salient contours are overlaid on a greyscale conversion of the live digital video feed for improved processing and visual contrast. Other implementations modify aspects of edge-detecting or post-processing filters for improved performance on mobile computing devices.

A computer-implemented method in a document editing module is provided. The document editing module comprises a processor configured by programming instructions encoded in non-transient computer readable media. The method comprises providing, by the processor, contents of a document to a user interface; providing via the user interface, by the processor, an object that when selected indicates a desire to lock the document from editing by another document editing module or another instance of the document editing module for a fixed time period; and modifying, by the processor, one or more attributes of the document that indicate that the document is locked for editing and a fixed length of time the document is locked for editing when the object has been selected.

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for sharing a record from another application without leaving a current application. An embodiment operates by receiving a request for a record in an application at a user interface of a connected keyboard. The embodiment accesses credentials in a credential database from the connected keyboard based on the request. The embodiment transmits the request for the record to the application from the connected keyboard based on the credentials. The embodiment receives the record from the application at the connected keyboard. The embodiment then outputs the record at the connected keyboard.

In one or more implementations, location information of a mobile computing device is calculated based on a distance between the mobile computing device and multiple signal transmitters having predefined locations. In addition, a compass heading of the mobile computing device is identified that indicates an orientation of the mobile computing device. The location information and the compass heading of the mobile computing device is then applied to correlate with display-location data of an application for interaction with one or more objects displayed on a display device.
