Examples include a fluid ejection device. The fluid ejection device comprises a fluid ejection die and a control engine. The fluid ejection die comprises nozzles to eject fluid drops and a temperature sensors disposed on the die to sense temperatures associated with nozzles. The control engine determines at least one nozzle characteristic of at least one respective nozzle based at least in part on a temperature change associated with the at least one respective nozzle corresponding to at least one ejection event.

Nozzle characteristics

Examples include a fluid ejection system. The fluid ejection system comprises a fluid supply reservoir, a fluid ejection die, a fluid delivery subsystem, and a control engine. The fluid ejection die comprises nozzles to eject fluid and at least one temperature sensor disposed on the die to sense a temperature of the fluid ejection die. The fluid delivery subsystem fluidly connects the fluid reservoir and the fluid ejection die, and the fluid delivery subsystem comprises at least one valve to regulate conveyance of fluid from the fluid supply reservoir to the fluid ejection die. The control engine controls the at least one valve to thereby regulate conveyance of fluid from the fluid supply reservoir to the fluid ejection die based at least in part on the temperature of the fluid ejection die.

In some examples, a method of sensing an ink level includes applying a pre-charge voltage to a sense capacitor to charge the sense capacitor with a charge, sharing the charge between the sense capacitor and a reference capacitor, causing a reference voltage at a gate of an evaluation transistor, and determining a resistance from a drain to a source of the evaluation transistor that results from the reference voltage.

A printhead assembly for an inkjet-printing device includes a printhead die and a flexible circuit connected to the printhead die. The printhead die includes a substrate, a first ground network electrically connected to the substrate, a device layer, and a second ground network electrically connected to the device layer. The first ground network and the second ground network are electrically isolated from one another within the printhead die. The first ground network and the second ground network are electrically connected to one another at the flexible circuit.

In some examples, an ink level sensor includes a sense capacitor between a first node and ground, a first switch to couple a first voltage to the first node and charge the sense capacitor, a second switch to couple the first node with a second node and share the charge between the sense capacitor and a reference capacitor, causing a second voltage at the second node, and a transistor having a drain, a gate coupled to the second node, and a source coupled to ground, the transistor to provide a drain to source resistance in proportion to the second voltage.

An inkjet print head includes data signal lines configured to supply inkjet control voltages and non-volatile memory cell random access addresses. The inkjet print head includes an inkjet nozzle array wherein each nozzle in the array is configured to communicate with a data signal line. Also a non-volatile attribute memory cell array is included in the inkjet print head wherein each memory cell in the array is accessed through a data signal line shared with the nozzle array.

In an embodiment, a fluid ejection device includes an ink slot formed in a printhead die. The fluid ejection device also includes a printhead-integrated ink level sensor (PILS) to sense an ink level of a chamber in fluid communication with the slot, and a clearing resistor circuit disposed within the chamber to clear the chamber of ink.

In an embodiment, a method of sensing an ink level includes applying a pre-charge voltage Vp to a sense capacitor to charge the sense capacitor with a charge Q, sharing Qbetween the sense capacitor and a reference capacitor, causing a reference voltage Vg at the gate of an evaluation transistor, and determining a resistance from drain to source of the evaluation transistor that results from Vg.

Ink level sensor and related methods

A fluid ejection device includes a plurality of address lines and a fire line for communicating a fire signal. The device also includes a plurality of nozzle circuits coupled to the fire line and the plurality of address lines. Each nozzle circuit is configured, when enabled, to eject fluid via a different one of a plurality of nozzles in response to the fire signal. A subset of the plurality of address lines is coupled to each pair of the plurality of nozzle circuits. Each subset that is coupled to one of the pairs of nozzle circuits is selected so that simultaneous activation of every address line of that subset simultaneously enables each nozzle circuit in the pair or pairs of nozzle circuits coupled to that triad and none of the other nozzle circuits of the plurality of nozzle circuits.

A printing system comprising an electrical interface for ink pens of an inkjet printer, the electrical interface including a first group of electrical contacts; a second group of electrical contacts, the second group of electrical contacts being arranged in an identical configuration as the first group of electrical contacts; and a number of electrical interconnects, in which each electrical contact from the first and second groups of electrical contacts is connected to one of the electrical interconnects via a conductive trace; in which at least one electrical contact from the first group of electrical contacts is connected to a same electrical interconnect as at least one electrical contact from the second group of electrical contacts.

A printhead die is provided that includes a substrate and a slot extending through the substrate, the slot including a first slot segment and a discrete second slot segment, the second slot segment being offset from the first slot segment along a major axis and along an orthogonal minor axis.
