A headlamp assembly comprising a light source and a housing for the light source, a dampening element for dampening movement of the housing in or generally along at least one axis in response to dynamic loads during operation of the vehicle, while permitting movement of the housing in a predetermined direction. Another embodiment comprises a headlamp assembly comprising a light source and a support housing having a projection extending from the support housing. At least one isolator is mounted on the projection and a bracket comprising a working surface generally opposes a landing surface of a landing. The working surface comprises a slot adapted to receive a post and permit the post to move in the slot. The at least one isolator cooperates and engages the working surface or the landing surface to dampen movement of the support housing in response to dynamic loads during operation of the vehicle.

Headlight dampening system and method

A light guide fixture system () includes a light guide () and a fixturing cassette (). The guide () includes and a mounting surface () having a mounting feature () and a locating feature () for engaging a locating feature () of a light module () and align the guide () with respect to a light engine (). The cassette () includes a light guide-receiving region () for receiving the mounting surface (), a mounting feature (), and a mounting region () for mounting the system () to the light module (). The mounting features () allow translational motion of the cassette () relative to the guide () when the guide () is received in the light guide-receiving region () while allowing the guide () to remain in the predetermined position. The cassette () secures the guide () to the light module ().
